CONIN joined MC. MC turned out to stand for Mining Coalition. CONIN left CONIN and formed Revelations Inc. The carebears stayed behind.
I'm trying real hard here not to rant and flame so I hope that explanation will due.
Oh my word you couldnt stand 2 MAX!!!! weeks carebear period you wanted to shoot everything and everyone on and off contract you wanted to war dec people for no reason you knew that wasnt how the MC worked before you even joined, plus AJ you were hardly in the MC long enough to see how it worked so please keep your uninformed opinions to yourself..

The carebear weeks stretched into over a month. Meanwhile, MC puts up outposts.... why? Oh, and gotta love the plans that my corp objected to to build outposts w/ iss out in the new regions to sell off shares of, but of course this and escorting freighters as our "contracts" was the only thing MC leadership wanted to do anymore.
Point in fact, I never was much of a shoot anythign that moves person. BAck in the pirate days while my guys pirated, I was mission whoring. But, MC was and is going in the wrong direction. Why do you think Farjung left, as well as the core of contraband. Why is nsn leaving? Why did TC get forced out by Seleene?
MC has the high skilled players, with experience, but they're quickly turning into dedicated carebears while the pvpers leave. It's sad to see the corp I built with Marovinchian get dragged along with the MC.
But hey, I'm not bitter (lol), I'm having fun being the devil and destroying more ships per day with 17 members than MC does with 200. |

amen, now lets stop all this crap about "omgzor MC sucks" "omgzor XXX is not alliance material." TBH i dont care. I asked for 5 corps who if put into an alliance would make ppl think "meh why log in" not "what alliance will collapse after 2 weeks," or "name 5 corps who could maintain an alliance and take and hold space for the rest of eve."
Take the question as it is, and answer it. Discuss the corps, not the questions

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. Only time will tell if it is the correct one.

Then why continually spam all of these threads with vitriol? Be happy doing what you want to do and let us be happy doing what we want to do.

I accepted ppl will nominate all the bob corps, hence i asked ppl to attempt to ignore them, But when ppl come out with replies like yours, it kinda defeats the object. When ppl ignore the request to not include your own corp, it messes it up even more, it becomes more of a "my willy is bigger than yours"

Ah, screw it. If I could pull in corps from all times in EVE, my OMGRUN list would be:
m0o (pre-BoB) - The absolute terror of their day. Forty of them would invade a region and steamroll everything.
Space Invaders - Anyone remember the raids up into Venal back in late '03? How hard did Drunk, Vice and the gang pwn?
Zombie - While remembered mainly for the incident in Yulai, Zombie had a very successful run and few corps in the game could stand toe to toe with them.
FRICK - From birth and even today, the best skirmish / support flyers in EVE. They may lack the heavy metal, but they always manage to recruit so many specialized and dedicated pilots, many of whom come from nowhere. (Eyeshadow, Farjung, etc...)
Cult of Cthulhu - Mitch's crew won and won with style. I always admired these guys and would love to fly with them one day.
With no logistics / territory involved... Just pure, mobile pwnage. There ya go.

Blacklight really jammed a nail into his head (or however it goes) with his post, it IS a fact that most of the suggested corps would make a crap alliance put togheter I could easily see most of these "top 5 corp alliances" just sticking with a common name, doing thier own thing in thier own way and helping each other as much as they would help the random n00b. The notorious lone wolf corps in this game should stay that way, since that's what they're good at. Not saying that IF they were to join a common cause, the result would be... painful
So if I were to put togheter a plauge made up by 5 corps to shove up the bottom of my enemies, it would like something like this:

u are correct. having 20 ppl in corp that could all lead is gr8. but u need a few ppl that when they speak everyone listens. some1 that has mutual respect to stop the messing around and organise.

True, but good pilots can recognize moment when silent and concentration is needed without anyone telling them...no matter who is leading or not

Edited by: DeadDuck on 21/09/2006 11:11:24 I will not nominate any individual corps. I will say that the Northern Fleet assembled in XZH during the Goons Wars were without any doubt in my mind one of the most powerfull and efficient fleets ever. That fleet looked like a Suiss watch working together.
I will say that a dream pvp corp would be those +/- 200 pilots from D2+RZR+YouWhat

LOL responses like these are silly. The OP asked for no BoB corps, but there are a few posts like this, strangely enough from people in BoB. It's nice that you guys have loyalty to your alliance but is it so much that you can't put aside the ego and list off 5 other corps you respect that aren't in your own alliance?? Seriously, the fact that the OP requested no BoB corps (and subsequent people including one or two anyway) is enough respect toward you guys as it is.
As much as the majority of BoB complains when there's a lot of threads about them, it's strange to see some of them (a minority for sure) come out and do this in threads that are specifically not about them. ----------

They are a foe worthy of respect, ballsy corp and good pilots.
I'd suggest if you don't have a corp/alliance ticker and a contribution you step back and try not to provoke your betters.
top 5 wise.
1. Contraband - some of the best time i've spent in eve was with these guys.
2. Beagle - Not fussed by how heavily outgunned they are, win or lose low on smack high on humour... we even look forward to being shot by them these days.
3. Burn Eden - high on smack, low on humour but you can't fault the killing skills.
4. Penetrate - Like burn eden clones with worse ratio but cooler members, their guys at the eve bash were quality o/, Dragoon has problems fitting his ego into a megathron though..
5. LOOT - Rained death on me when I was a noob along time ago.. and it sorta stuck with me.. so an honourary mention for old foes.

i hardly think thats 100% correct.. this isnt the military.. ppl get drunk, ppl have a carry on.. its lads being lads and i pitty the corp that doesnt have this, its character..
some1 in your corp must be better at organising things than others, some1 must have the edge that other 3 1/2 year old vets dont... because a corp has 20 ppl that can lead doesnt mean they should be.
anyways, i wont say anymore.

I don't think CONIN would be a top-5 alliance corp, now or ever. We have always had too much ADD and been much better as a solo corp. Good alliance corps should have solid logistics and communication with fellow corps and bring something overall to the table. We have always been "OMG kill!" with a 30-hour shelf life on any sort of collective consciousness. Not that this is a bad thing, but it has never made us a good alliance corp.
Now I think that those of us staying are trying to channel some of that bloodlust and be a better alliance corp.
As for a top 5, I think you can only judge the top 5 that you have flown with or against. So, with that:
1. BDCI (solid fighting and logistics) 2. FRICK (ditto) 3. FU2 (deceptively good fighters, lots of intangibles in alliance contribution, level heads) 4. Imp Dreams (lots of bling and heavy metal, rich as Croesus) 5. PIE (mostly on Hardin building CVA to what it is and was)
