I love EVE. The key is just to play around an hour a day.
I think some people have simply been playing FAR too much. And, just like any game, if you play it 24/7 it will get tedious.

Errrrr .....
.....isn't the fact you still play proof in itself that you like the game? Are there really such things as masochists? *Can* there be such things as masochists, since they wouldn't do things that they hate unless they enjoyed doing things that they hated .. so they're doing what they want to do anyway, that being, something they hate.
The hallmark of any truly addictive game is how many rants and raves you find on the official forums. If it wasn't so enjoyable, people would just up and leave instead of complaining about the stuff that annoys them.

100% agreed. Playing EVE 1-2 hours per day is real fun. I even take breaks of up to 10 days, just to get back and have fun again. BTW, iŠm CEO and i donŠt hear any complaints about me not beeing online. What a great corp

I'm sick of EVE. But i'm hoping CCP will fix PvP in a near future, so i'm not going anywhere.
And if they don't, I will pod all their active subscribers.

ROFL! Spending hours upon hours of ones life on something you hate. And hold on...paying real money for it!
Can I interest you in doing my laundry? Dishes perhaps, or cleaning? I only charge $10 per month for you to do it for me. Call now, and you'll even get to clean under the bathtub for free!

EVE - Take only as direct, this game causes irritability, hatred, and general discomfort. Other know side effects include bloating, PMS, lack of sexual desire. This product is habit forming. If you notice the little red bumps please contact your physician immediately. JOBS - Got Moin?

I only log in for the people (my corp mates). It's not like there is anything entertaining to do. I log on, chat with a handful of people, see what is going on, train a skill, and log off.

For those who have never heard of X1...?
Closest I can think of is the X-Com series . _______________________________________________________________________

Now there is a testimonial if I ever heard one but unfortunately it is pretty close to the truth.
Could actually be the basis for a new advertising campaign for CCP.

Ugh... hmmm... fuzzy textures, cheap visual effects, overly large cartoonish interface controls bring back haunting memories of the X games. Definitely not quite on par with Eve.
Your friendly Eve zealot.

I agree with most of your guys i wouldn't still play eve if i didn't still like it sort of. I think the customer support blows, i think they make promises all the time that they never keep and i'm getting tired of that. Yet i can't seem to justify just quiting the game that i've already put 6 months of time and effort into. And I would miss alot of the friends that i've met while playing i'd say the people are the best part about playing evebut i NEED Content so ccp pls add some for christ sake.

Edited by: Drethen Nerevitas on 23/10/2003 17:20:44 Ugh...seen the site... Graphics are awful...gameplay doesn't look so good...and whoever wrote that storyline was either normal ( ) or completely drunk at the time. Amatuers .
Edit: This on X-Online, not on Eve . _______________________________________________________________________

i've just cancelled my subscription too. took me a long time to decide cause as everybody has said, what has kept me this long is my corp mates, but you just get to a point where it just can't go on.
(somehow though, if more things get added later on, i will decide if it's worth it to come back) ______________________________________________ Hellmar > sorry for the attitude, playing a n00b character through the current state just left me a bit bitter dev chat: Mar 18, 2004

If you play something all the time, of course it's going to lose it's appeal sooner or later.

It's the same thing with other games... take Counter-Strike for example :)
/me hears moans and groans in the background.
There are so many Counter-Strike players tht play, but there are still quite a few that quit after...um...5 years... of playing because they finally realize it's retarded.
