An emergency patch will be applied to Tranquility tomorrow, 27 September, starting at 0800 GMT. Tranquility is expected to return to service by 1400 GMT.
As a number of recent News Items, Dev Blogs (2 blog links) and forum posts have pointed out, there have been a number of issues regarding Tranquility's stability. This patch is being deployed to address these issues.
The EVE team realizes a patch deployed on notice as short as this causes inconveniences for some of the EVE community. However, we feel the severity of the stability issues warrant a departure from the normal pre-notification and Tuesday deployment routine. As with any patch, we recommend training a longer duration skill in the event of patch deployment issues.
Patch Notes are now available for viewing. With this patch, we are also implementing a new build version tracking system, thus standardizing the client and server build numbers. The patch will update the client from build 4561 to 25245. The patch notes page will be updated with the new system in the near future.

They probably have some server side fixes to deploy as well.

As Eldo pointed out, there are a number of server side fixes that will be deployed with the patch tomorrow. Also, we have some extra time added into the downtime estimate in the event of any issues. If the patch deploys as intended, we will bring the server back online before 1400.

Patch notes say "Build 4561 to 5245". You're missing a 2 there. Maybe its a sign you need to run the Power of Two offer again?
Good luck with the patch. :)
That's why the last sentence of my post states, "The patch notes page will be updated with the new system in the near future." Nice try on the Power of 2 offer though!

Originally by: Archi Viralfury Can someone please explain to me how exactly denying capital ships access to deadspace gates is an "Emergency server fix".
And secondly, i presume if you are removing capital ships from being able to run level 4 missions, i presume you are removing battleships from level 3 missions, and battlecruisers from level 2 misisons, and even cruisers from level 1 missions. I dont think so.
And NO! before you ask.. i dont fly a capital ship. I just think this is the most stupid idea in a string of decreasingly sane ideas. And i for one have been playing this game for a long time, And until now have wined about nothing. But this is the last straw. Me and alot of people like me are getting very upset and unhappy with this seemingly endless moving of the goal posts as stated in a post above.
Stop breaking things that dont need to be fixed. and fix the things that are broken.
And to those people that argue that capital ships are only meant for PVP, then i suppose Battleships are only meant for PVP as well, or any other ship. I mean you dont NEED a battleship to do a mission, a HAC or a Cammand ship can do the same missions, so maybe we should see battleships banned from deadspace as well yes? When i look at the description of a carrier or a dreadnaught i dont see anything in the description of any of these ships that states "ONLY FOR PVP".
So please feel free to attack my observations and opinions in a sensible manner as i would like some "constructive" comments with regards to my views in order to set my mind at rest.
As was pointed out they were never supposed to be allowed there in the first place and this patch isn't a patch just to fix that it just happens the fix for that was ready at the time they needed to do an emergency patch so it was added to be fixed.
I've tested running 10/10 complexes in a mothership/carrier and they easily rip them apart so theres your reason for not letting them do high level missions, a carrier can shread a player fitted BS in no time at all so you think its gonna even blink at popping NPC's? ---

This is one item among many in a 'fixes and improvements' patch, the majority of which are changes and fixes to the stability issues TQ has been having in recent weeks. No new content is being added in this patch.
