An emergency patch will be applied to Tranquility tomorrow, 27 September, starting at 0800 GMT. Tranquility is expected to return to service by 1400 GMT.
As a number of recent News Items, Dev Blogs (2 blog links) and forum posts have pointed out, there have been a number of issues regarding Tranquility's stability. This patch is being deployed to address these issues.
The EVE team realizes a patch deployed on notice as short as this causes inconveniences for some of the EVE community. However, we feel the severity of the stability issues warrant a departure from the normal pre-notification and Tuesday deployment routine. As with any patch, we recommend training a longer duration skill in the event of patch deployment issues.
Patch Notes are now available for viewing. With this patch, we are also implementing a new build version tracking system, thus standardizing the client and server build numbers. The patch will update the client from build 4561 to 25245. The patch notes page will be updated with the new system in the near future.

For the amount of changes listed in the patch notes, it seems like an awfully LONG down time?

They probably have some server side fixes to deploy as well.

Hmm, not sure on that one. Usually corps store more than just minerals in industrial hanagrs. Was always useful to give people building rights and have the mineral stocks in a hanagr that they could not steal from if they are alt thiefs.
edited to fix the smilie ------

As Eldo pointed out, there are a number of server side fixes that will be deployed with the patch tomorrow. Also, we have some extra time added into the downtime estimate in the event of any issues. If the patch deploys as intended, we will bring the server back online before 1400.

Does this mean Carriers can no longer be used for level 4 mission deadspace, or does that only apply to complexes?

both i would assume, no lvl 4 or complex was designed with cap ships in mind. They make things too easy.

Patch notes say "Build 4561 to 5245". You're missing a 2 there. Maybe its a sign you need to run the Power of Two offer again?
Good luck with the patch. :)

That's why the last sentence of my post states, "The patch notes page will be updated with the new system in the near future." Nice try on the Power of 2 offer though!

From wikipedia:
"A particular characteristic of many vultures is a bald head, devoid of feathers. This is likely because a feathered head would become spattered with blood and other fluids, and thus be difficult to keep clean."

Sounds like CCP's lazy ass way of fixing the 10/10 complex whoring, while making Cosmos LS missions impossible to do without you have a faction fitted uber shield tanking ship. Cause there is no way an armor tanker can deal with it. Great Job CCP, Break another thing that doesn't need breaking because you're not creative enough to fix something right.

If it has an accel gate, you can't use it.
Using capships to run level 4s is just wrong. It's like using a Raven with Assault missile launchers to run level 2s.

I'm curious if it's possible to tell the 'online' players whats going on. Those that log on after the news item can see it. Those that have been online playing may not realise its happening, log off and start moaning tomorrow
Not a complaint, just a thought
