no, i do not feel this post should be a part of the titan thread because it is about some random game mechanics my friend brought up in a discussion and it just so happens that the titan is the only ship we can think of to test this on.
what happens when you put 8 expanded cargos (with -10m/s each) on a titan (with 60m/s base speed)?
is there a hardcoded 1m/s minimum velocity?
is there a hardcoded 0m/s minimum velocity? would this make the titan be permanently aligned in every direction at once, or just prevent it from warping at all? would its velocity gauge fill up when you tell it to move?
would the titan moonwalk at 20m/s?
would the titan a'splode?
does anyone suppose ccp has forseen this, or do you think itll crash the server?

I seem to recall the Titan's pilot saying something along the lines of it flying at 120m/s or so with just skills boosting it.
So... question = moot.

My question is:
Has ASCN petitioned/BR'd anything about it yet?

I think they petitioned that it is too small.

Edited by: Kolhell on 27/09/2006 04:22:34 its 60m/s base speed, and nav 5 makes you 25% faster at rank 5, so thats 75m/s unless im missing something :/ ill go change my top post to say "moonwalk at 5m/s"

Or those numbers are incorrect?
Either way, check the thread, he does post saying how fast it goes, and it was nowhere near that slow.

If you put too many webs on a battleship, it will go backwards. (at least it used to, haven't tested that in a while)

I'm sort of wondering what the cargo capacity would be if you put 8 local hulls in the low slots...

It will most likely work the same way it does on a revelation. If I hook up 8x Expanders on mine it will show -19m/s in station (i got maxed navigation skills btw). However if you undock the negative value gets rounded down to 0m/s.
Which renders you unable to move by your own, unable to warp as you cannot move and thus reach the warp speed that isn't there. You however can get bumped, but end up outside docking range and you're screwed (unless you offline the expanders).
Am pretty confident that a Titan will act the same way.

The -10m/s is reduced from the base speed of the ship, not after skills/mods have been applied.
So revelations/motherships/titans will all go to negative speeds. Heh. --------
