Ah, hello number 661. You've got a long way to go.
Let's get down to podding, to defeat the carebears! You do realize that eveboard has a hair less than 1% of all characters on it, right? ;)
I'd be the 39th richest person in EVE by wallet balance if eveboard were anything to go by, but I doubt I'm even in the top 1000. :)
Probably more like "hello number 15,432".

Kaelynne Rose wrote:So with skillpoint lose gone and medical cost gone, and npcs starting to pod people even in highsec, Why is there still such a Super Atomic Massive Negative securtiy penatly hit for podding?
Even in lowsec.....?
Now if you commit criminal agression, you lose secstatus, makes sense It is also relative to the systems sec status (ie you gank a venture in a 1.0 you lose more secStatus then if you did the same in a .5) Also makes sense...
Yet in LOWSEC in a .4 system, if you pod someone, your sec status is NUKED! Shouldnt podding in a .1-.4 be the same rate? Also way less than current?
Why is this like this still after all the changes to take away podloss negatives/loss/risk?
There was a time when -10 was something folks ran around as a badge of job well done.
Now days I see more and more whine on "hey why consequences"

Lowsec is Empire space, so yeah it should have the same security hit formula as the rest of Empire space (including the highsec bits). Lowsec's entire uniqueness is that it isn't lawless space, it's just Empire space with no CONCORD response.
You want a place where security doesn't matter? That's out in nullsec, which is not Empire space. |

And a better wanted sign. disco a bunch of pods in jita I went from +5 to -10 in about 10 seconds Yet 1 podkill in a .4 (lowsec) will take you from positive sec status to like -3.6 boom 1 second Seems OP Clone/med costs GONE Skillpoint loss. GONE Npcs podding players. HERE Crimewatch even allowed the legal aggression of pods after fights a couple years ago Time to rebalance the harsh podkill laws? No. Most 0.4s border high sec, the entry points for newbros and first-time lowseccers. One of the reasons many lowsec areas such as Khanid are so dead and empty is because people like to gatecamp those entry points, despite the penalties already, for easy killboard padding. How about you balls up like a real lowseccer and go -10? No real lowseccer needs that sec status anyway, and then you can stop begging on the forums for cheaper kills with less penalties, because you won't care about the penalties anymore.
If you fly logi boats, getting too low can be a major pain in the butt especially in frigs where your fleet won't be able to hold against the potential gate guns if they try to help you because you were a random target. It all depends what you are doing/looking for. |

Of course your sec status get's nuked when you commit murder in empire space. It aint bad in a .1, but .4 is too severe sec hit. It should round .4 DOWN!! 1 podkill in a .4 shouldn't make u like a -3.7 right off bat. Its lowsec for gods sakee
How is this even logical? If it's a poding in low sec it's a poding in low sec regardsless of arbitrary numbers on systems sec indicator.

yeah no penalties for kills that wont increase ganking at all. While we are at it lets make it so when you die or kill someone they don't lose a ship and only a percentage for gear.

Podding is so not evil at all.
(it used to be a little more evil when there were clones, and you actually lost skill points ifyour were cheap enough to not update your clone, ... but now, pods are pointless and worthless. Might as well get rid of them.

AKCHUALLY being red changes your lowsec experience in that you don't have to get aggro to be shootable, this can change the way tackling on gates happens. Still, sec lower than -5 means lowsec denizen and only costs a couple hundred mil to get back to fly anywhere status so what's the whine?

Ooh, I always thought that only applied in Empire (Lo/Hi). Didn't think sec status got cured out in 0.0. Learning day today :)

Yep, they do. Anything with a bounty comes with security status bumps coinciding with the bounty ticks.

No whine on my part, I just don't understand the gameplay reason to tax lowsec regulars for highsec access.
Practical result is:
- Yes you can easily fix your sec status if you plan to spend time in highsec...
- ...but it's definitely not worth the ISK just to pop your head in highsec from time to time
So basically lowsec regulars just almost never go to highsec. Which is no biggie, but why? Wouldn't lowsec guys (usually decent solo/small gang pvp-ers) spice up highsec a bit? Offering some sweet explosions (among them) for newbies to watch, playing with highsec mercs, maybe joining some wars as defenders just to mess with war-deccing corps?
My suggestion would be: keep sec status penalties as they are, but ditch Faction Police (not CONCORD, obviously). Let players deal with 'criminals' or let criminals duke it out among themselves.

I also love killing pods and think the hit from them is fine. If you don't like it, then don't do it.

Actually one change could be to remove sec hits for ship kills in low sec and have them only on pods there.
This could have the effect of more ship PvP in low and still allow those involved to frequent High now and then.

I think the only thing worse than care bears whining that the ore in their hold doesn't sell itself and they can die after afk for hours mining is PVPers that whine about a profession they chose and an act that they decide to commit knowing the mechanics.
Adapt to the system your in or learn how to change/avoid it.
Mostly just stop whining. |

Why, if it prospers, none dare call it "treason."
