Have the devs looked into finally clearing out alot of the old junk containers floating about that havn't been used in X months?
It was mentioned years ago they were going to do this and a few posts by GMs (I'll get the links when I can dig them up) now and again have hinted that alot of cans seem to cause lag or at least contribute to it significantly.
I have the body of a supermodel. I just can't remember where I left it.

Try running in windowed mode. I ran into an order of magnitude fewer problems.
Well, I'm trying that now, and also turning sound off. But it's a workaround not a fix. This game should be playable fullscreen with sound. That's what I'm paying for.
It's not my hardware, which I've stress-tested every which way till sunday. Everything else is running smoothly, including some really heavy apps. So it really is EVE. And CTDs should not happen, certainly not this often and for this many people.

CCP with the big war breaking out this weekend involving what 6000 + players plus another 6000 indirectly and probably more pirates etc what is being done at least to keep the game fairly playable as 2 unnamed enttites go at it

Edited by: SIlk Predator on 29/09/2006 14:37:30 Unamed except the other guys post where it said BoB and ASCN. I wonder if BoB got upset that ASCN got a titan first. A real one that is, not a pretend one.
You do make a very good point however, with the both of them going at it like a couple of sissy schoolgirls with handbags at dawn, are the servers going to be able to cope? Are the rest of us going to be swimming in a puddle of jealousy inflicted lag? Will sharkbait ever find his face?

Well, I can see no better test of server stability like a L33t pilot rush to get the first Titan Killmail. This could get interesting fast.
It will also be good to test titan superweapons on such l33t pilots and make sure that it doesnt' crash server nodes when all those deaths happen at once. ^_^
But why did they have to build the titan that looks like a giant phallus..... ___________________________________________________ "I'm an engineer, not a miracle worker!" - Scotty, Star Trek: The Original Series |

Was still laggy last night (Thursday)/this morning (Friday) in Motsu/Jita... and elsewhere in The Forge/The Citadel. Was only a few hours before DT, so not that many people were on. Wednesday it seemed like things were running great right after the emergency patch... now it seems to have taken a step backwards.

lag is horrific atm. I'm in solitude which atm holds less then 200 players and almost no combat, but modules take about 5-10 sec to respond, IF THEY RESPOND AT ALL ! almost lost a ship there.
think solitude ran out of memory ?

Agreed. Sinq and assorted Amarr areas have ben noticably worse since WED, when they used to be good in comparison to Cal space. I hope there's some load balancing experimentation at work here, and not a ramp-up to even wider issues. I'm still waiting for systems with high-level Cal agent missions to become usable again. Well, howling at the moon or whining or whatever you can call it won't change the current situation, neither the speed at our friendly Devs can sort it out.
All we can do is to wait, providing them as much information as we can about lag issues and such, and hope their work and the first Revelations' improvements will finally gets TQ stability issues to a more normal state of gameplay :)

Thanks for the heads up, but... lag is still there.
I got lag in Aramachi (Citadel) like 30 minutes after downtime and we got horrible lag in a 15 frigs op in Syndicate tonight (which was mostly horrible for our opponents )
You're doing your best, no doubt about that and thanks for your efforts, but it's going nowhere. 25k players on a same cluster is simply too much. I hope you prove us wrong fast (BoB vs ASCN could be the downfall of the whole 'one server' concept) but atm the game is simply a joke.
Again, I wholeheartedly support your efforts, but when you're facing a wall, well...

Maybe server's showing happier face on your monitors but I haven't noticed any improvements. If anything, it got worse in a sense that before you had stabble lag, you could count on module to take x secs to activate. Now it's anything from instant to ... whatever. So maybe those mission "events and triggers" already made it in
But you guys aren't of the BS type so cheers on progress.

goodluck with the server fixing, mayby i should yust take a eve vacation and come back in few months to see if it has improved

If you haven't noticed, the devs/gms only respond to forum posts if it's not EVE-related or if it's people giving them kudos. Once the bad news starts rolling in, they're mysteriously quiet.

I don't care if the news are either good or bad, I just want to have an idea of the progress of their work upon those issues. And FYI, I assume GMs/Devs have something else to do than losing their time on the forums.
I'd like just a bit more communication from them to us. _________________________________________

I don't think I'm the only one that has noticed that CCP can't adapt to player amount increase. I have said this before; stop advertising EVE to anyone, as increase of player amount online will only result crappyer performance for all, and death of EVE.

Yes eve is very laggy at the moment, its impossible to do anything, a 0.0 system with 10 people is just as laggy as Jita with 500 in it, how come? Its annoying, it has to be the new patch? Before it i didnt notice any lag at all, then it was ¦depending on the amount of players in the system, now i dont know what causes it, maybe some smart idea to "share" the load on all systems? :> I rather have more lag in safespace than little less lag in safespaec and alot more lag in unsafe and/or 0.0 :(
Anyone else noticed this? :P

Am I one of the few or what, but the only time I've had issues recently is in either Rens or Jita or the few surrounding systems, rest of the time has been fairly clear...
/me shrugs
There are issues still in certain circumstances, but in normal play while avoiding the "hubs" and, I'm for the most part, good to go. Would be interesting to see how many are having "connection" base issues, and how many are having "server" based issues.
Seems CCP add more proccessing power/code efficiency and it just means more folks flock to the main trading "hubs" lagging them out to the point they were at pre-upgrade/patch. At this rate 90% of TQ's processing power is going to be dedicated to running Jita, Rens and any other main trading hub that might be out there.
This is a sig...

Before Dragon was released, there could be 700 people in Jita and 29,000 on the servers with no lag. After Dragon, there's lag w/ 300 people in Jita and 11k people on the servers. Those who fail to see a connection are blinded by... who knows what.
