Tomorrow, Saturday September 30, we will need the help of a good number of players (200-300) to assist with testing and information gathering about Player Owned Structures and fleet battle related node issues. This information will help us find the cause of the node deaths that have been occurring during fleet battle at and around Player Owned Structures.
The test will take place on the Singularity server (currently running the same version as TQ) at 11:00 GMT, during downtime. We will need at least 200 pilots to properly test this. Those that wish to participate in testing should log into Singularity prior to testing and join the in-game channel ôPOS stress testö before 11:00 GMT to be moved to the test system. The market will have been seeded with plenty of ships and fittings already.
To help answer questions that IÆm sure will come up, I will outline the basics here. Please read them over if you are interested in helping so that you are already aware of how things will work and this event runs as smoothly as possible.
+ We will have 2 ôteamsö: Defenders and Attackers,
+ Both teams should have a good mix of ship types, including dreads and carriers.. but we also need battleships and smaller ships,
+ Expect the testing to last about 1 hour,
+ You will be expected to follow all directions given by myself or any of the CCP/ISD team while participating in this test. It is vital that we do this right so we get useful dataà and we need your cooperation to make that happen,
+ Singularity is currently running the same version as Tranquility so no patching is needed, simply select Singularity from the drop down menu and then login to your character as you would normally.
+ All standard test server rules will still apply, you may read them here: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=253187 (with the obvious exception of #6.. we will be transporting you to the test area and the market will already be seeded with cheap stuff for you to use.) You may also wish to read this thread about the test server: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=46836

There is a station there that will have all items on market for 100isk each. You will be transported to that station so you can fit there, or beforehand... it's up to you. though obviously having a ship ready before we start is better.
I will want people to try to fit quickly though so that things don't go too long. I hope to get testing finished before downtime is over so that I'm not keeping you all from enjoying playing. :)

DEVS! Will you make a fresh mirror of TQ to SiSi?
Unfortunately there will not be a chance to do a mirror. That would cause delays and I'd rather focus on fixing issues rather than making sure everyone's skills are up to date on Sisi.

Well that was thoroughly unpleasant. Could all those who had the logserver running when the node died please submit a bug report, remembering to Zip the logfile and attatch it. Details for how to submit a good BR can be found in the Game Development Forum.
We are continuing with the test and we would be grateful for your help:
Could all attackers please warp to Planet V and wait to be ganged. Could all defenders please return to the POS and wait to be ganged.
Thank you!

Thanks so much to everyone who came and helped us test this. We were able to gatehr a lot of data today and it should really help us pinpoint issues and get them resolved faster.
For those of you who ran logserver:
Please zip the file and submit a bug report (you can find a link in my forum sig) with the title "POS stress test"
If your zipped logfile is larger than 2mb, please mail it to Runner: [email protected] and he will forward it on to me.
I would also like to thank all the ISD volunteers who gave their time to help me get things setup and handle transporting people around.
I appreciate how patient people were with us while we got things setup and even in dealing with the node deaths and login queue. You guys are all awesome!

I'd just like to echo what Tanis said and say thanks to all of you - you were a fantastic help. I hope you enjoyed it!
Also, much <3 to Tanis for organising the whole thing in the first place. I know it's taken up a fair amount of time to get everything sorted.
Thanks again!

Originally by: Irrilian *snip* The serverlog file for that is ~20Mb zipped, if it would be of any use I can put it up on some web space for someone to download.
Actually that would be good if you wouldn't mind.. probably easier than trying to stuff it through the e-mail system.
