Just a list of features thrown at you with some visuals. Also a lot too fast so that its hard to pick up everything the first time you watch it.

As far as Eve trailers go it is pretty horrible. Eve has done some absolutely beautiful trailers in the past. This one doesn't hold a candle to them. |

TBH it goes back to trailers like EVE never fades - and I would guess that's precisely the aim.
The very flashy trailers look shiney but I had been missing the "Actual gameplay footage" which used to be a hallmark of EVE Trailers.

I quite like the new trailer simply because it's just like the old trailers.
Dominion, Tyrannis, Incarna are all pretty and epic, but they don't exactly represent what you load up when you double click the eve.exe. To me it always seemed CCP were ashamed to show off their actual product.
Crucible however shows off EVE, the real EVE in all of it's glory... pew pewing internet spaceships to music.
Besides this trailer isn't to entice new players, it's to entice the people who left, to show them that EVE did a 180 and got back to it's roots. Same as this trailer, which is a lot more like the original trailers (Although definitely with different music and a lot speedier). |

Pretty much this.
Judging from a couple of the video blogs those cats were KILLING themselves getting Crucible out.
For all of that the expansion has been impressive at first blush.....
NOW that they aren't killing the art department reskinning, half of the ships, ALL of space, and all of the CQs (if you haven't looked they have to great things with the shaders)....
....maybe we'll get a proper trailernext time.

Watched all EvE trailers, many more then once (Dominion/Tyranis).
This one is by far the weakest, most pointless and unstructured of them all. Epic expansion, epic trailer fail.

Crusible trailer is a short ad, not even a trailer, for this expansion. Eve never fades shows off everything EVE has to offer and what EVE as a whole is about. If I wanted to show someone new to EVE what it is about I'd still choose EVE never fades. If I wanted to show a bittervet some of what the crusible expansion provided, I'd show him that ad. Funnily enough it doesn't even mention most of the best features the expansion brought to the game, since it's main purpose is to show that CCP is all about spaceships again. I can see why they did that, but as trailers go it's one of the weakest if not the weakest they've ever done. |

IMHO this is the kind of trailer that we have been needing for a while now, a trialer where i can say to the friends i show it to "that is what eve really looks like" the staged prerenderd stuff was alright and all but i couldnt actually say yes you can do that stuff in game and it does realy look like that. |

Well, as a trailer, I thought it was pretty good... I was disappointed though, because I did have my hopes up for a storyline trailer, something hopefully quite epic in scope - ideally, about sleepers and the coming emergence of Dust, coupled with capsuleer wars... Instead, I got Dubstep'd shiny, shiny...
I actually laughed. Mostly because of this -

The trailer is fantastic. Eve Never Fades remains the pinnicle and every trailer should aspire to be like it. This one comes fairly close.

See, it's a matter of taste.
Go back to the Dominion style trailers and you will see even more upset that it was not a gameplay video (myself included). |

EVE Never Fades was the first trailer I watched when I started playing EVE, not sure if I watched trailer first or started playing first but whatever. Point is it was /good/. The music was stellar and evocative, the range of visuals covering everything from new features (ships), actual combat and shots of market windows, stations and a great overview of the game.
This crucible expansion (while short) had the Never Fades soul in it, covering new features, shiny combat, and even a warp drive effect! What kind of trailer shows a warp drive effect! Crucible does
The music was just icing on the cake, of course I like Dominion as much as the next guy but this was proper EVE this time, not just theoretical EVE but actual EVE.

The trailer showed in game footage shot by players. As opposed to some cinematic sweep that we never see in game, it showed the game looking gorgeous (which attracts new people) and lists all the changes to bring back those who quit because of multiple reasons.
They went broadspectrum and delivered a taste of the game inside, not some FMV sequence that isn't accurate to gameplay.
And if you don't like the music, each to their own. I wub the dub. |

It was well done in a youtube/mtv rock video way.
For me personally, not my style. But it gets it's message across by being short and to the point with fast action, fast cuts and fast music.
If I were a new player checking it out for the first time, I would be interested in signing up for a trial. And at the end of the day, that is exactly what CCP is trying to do with it.
But give me a movie over a rock video next time. Keep us old folks happy.
