Jasmine, truth is entirely relative, and after any kind of conflict is largely the product of the victors. So the truth of this little matter, and the real nature of the participants, will only emerge in the weeks and months to come when it has been shaped and manipulated to the satisfaction of those involved. Even the original ultimatum arrived with a heavy degree of spin, and laden with taunts and provocations. It seems clear to me that the Rabbits want a sanctioned war to add legitimacy to their grab for territory.
However I suspect they will encounter a harsher reality than KD if they continue to make claims about 'their' territory. The Directive are not the only inhabitants of the region, and are certainly not the most capable, the most dangerous or the most organised.
As for you Kyoko, much of what you said was true, and inline with my own thinking. But whereas you have chosen to revel in destruction and associate with pirates we are at least still striving to find our way. You chose an easier path, and in doing so have perhaps given Omerta the focus needed to find theirs. I have no clear idea what the next few weeks might bring for me, but I am confident enough in the leadership of my corporation to say that I will be able to carry out my orders without overcoming my conscience first. I hope you too are granted that luxury.

The more I hear about the Rabbits, the more I come to respect them. They're just obeying the law ... the law of the jungle. Of course, they've never shown me anything but respect to me in return, so long as I'm strong enough to fend for myself. Should that ever change, I will no longer be worthy of their respect.
In fact, the only problem I've had with the rabbits so far is that they're making it harder for an independent pirate to make a living on the edges of State-controlled territory. Ah well. It's lovely in Gallente space this time of year. _

An overt threat from Omerta Syndicate. What happened? Run out of innocents in Pure Blind?

Ha! I am in no position within Omerta to offer threats or any other kind of statement. I was merely providing my own interpretation of this increasingly interesting situation. I have encountered several of the individuals involved in this discussion recently and have travelled through the troubled region several times in the last few days. My comments here represent nothing more than my own curiosity in the matter. A curiosity I might add that extends to being very interested in what the Star Fraction intend to do with the material they are reportedly moving into the region. I think that your tone here might have gone someway to answering that however.

The Directive has failed to meet our demands and henceforthly we have bribed concord to allow unlimited aggresion.
The campaign is of to a good start since no targets have been found in Mito and surrounding lowsec systems. Our spies also have reported an exodus of industrial class and transport class vessels.
We are looking forward to finding out if this is a permanent withdrawal of KD or if they are gathering a fleet to prove their worth in the coming days.

I know Zaitsev is willing to come after me, either because he thinks I'm a traitor, or because he knows I left with good reason and fears I might expose something sensitive when I dig deeper into the matter.
I'd hate to fight the people I've come to respect, even love, but you guys need to do what Zait tells you to do, am I right?

Edited by: Artemacus Mailar on 02/10/2006 23:24:42 You know I started off simply making comments out of interest, with no wider agenda. However the tone of some of the replies is starting to get me hoping that Zaitsev sends us down into Mito, weapons free. This is turning into something a lot more complicated than a simple pirate action, with uncertain allies and enemies I like too much. Still, in amongst the confusion I expect I will find my targets. That said I am not so foolish as to think that I will not need a ready supply of fresh clones and replacement ships. I don't think anyone is getting out of this one unscathed.

I can see entirely why you're not a diplomat anymore, you're obviously inept at it, taking into consideration who it is you're speaking to. A founding member of the alliance you now reside in and a corporation that still has your alliance set to positive standing.

Inept? Seriously Ms. Li, what would someone who sits 100K from a random gate somewhere and simply mashes the fire button whenever someone passes by know about diplomacy?
Originally by: Yuki Li A founding member of the alliance you now reside in and a corporation that still has your alliance set to positive standing.
I do have to thank you for founding the great alliance I now reside in. It is too bad that you fell by the wayside and turned the direction you did. What a waste of a noble start.
Originally by: Yuki Li Is that the same reason you left BNC again? Pot, Kettle, Black.
While it is true that I have killed innocents in the past, joining SF is my personal way to atone for those mistakes. Killing in the name of blurred bounderies made by tin-pot dictators is wrong, and I am ashamed of it.
You, however, what excuse do you have? How does blockading in 0.0 space and destroying trade to the Caldari State strengthen it? At the very least, I had a reason and purpose for my actions, what is yours?

Blockading 0.0 space? Sniping gates at 100km?
Clearly you have no concept at all what you're talking about.
I don't even pilot a ship that'll do that effectively, when i hunt i'm usually solo, and when we're in groups we never blockade and shoot randoms, we move into alliance controlled space where we'd be shot for being there anyway, and attack the hub systems of territorialist alliances.
The fact that we don't set standings to every corporation in the game to make sure we don't shoot someone who by some miracle isn't planning on shooting us anyway is down to a lack of trust.
If someone is in lawless space, they know the risks, and they're there for a reason, one is profit, the other is to kill. No-one in those regions can be accused of innocence.
You clearly know absolutely nothing about us and i find it dissapointing that a member of Star Fraction holds so much animosity towards us paired with so few facts.

EC-P8R is hostile alliance controlled space? Last I checked, it is ISS space, who are probably the least hostile alliance in 0.0. Worse yet, your stats are full of Rookie ship kills there. Well done! Bravo! The State must truly be proud.
If you went to actual hostile hubs, I may just feel simpathy. Since you are so misguided on what one is, let me point you to some nice spots: C4C-ZR, 3JN9-Q, BKG-Q2, D7-ZAC.

How enlightened of you! I have to wonder though, what does an upstanding Caldari have against turning a profit. Especially when the goods and Isk are destined for markets in the State anyway?

EC-P8R is a chokepoint, it's nice to know you've researched as far as the first page of our killboard, and you know as god damn well as i do that alliances use neutral rookie ships with peanuts for isk clones to spy on chokepoints.
Your "point" if you actually have one, is entirely moot.
I like to travel, personally. VFK is a nice system, and Feythabolis holds many suprises. Outer Ring is awfully accomodating too...
Look further than page one, oh wise one.
I'm wondering how long it'll be until you get bored again and head back to Band of Brothers for some more indiscriminate killing.

I guess there's no righteous like the converted, eh?
Jasmines rebukes I can tolerate. Aside from brief stints in other corporations, she's held to Jericho Fraction ideals. You, on the other hand, come freshly into the alliance with the blood of your years of indiscriminant killing on your hands. Note that this isn't a value judgement: I have the same blood on my hands as you do on yours. However, I won't claim to be somehow cleansed of this blood should I change my employer.
This is all very sad, really. Omerta Syndicate has enjoyed very close relations with the various Star Fraction members for a very long time. As Yuki mentioned, we're one of the founding corporations. I, myself, contributed several hundred million isk to the founding of that alliance. I don't say this to brag, but just to illustrate how closely tied we are. I could understand your hostility towards us if we decided, say, to claim and close space. However, so far our only actions on this front have been to grow upset at Kyoko. You must really despise us to take offense at this.
I guess our pet system-claiming imperialists must be much worse than yours.

I must say I am displeased with the comments of Mr. Damordred. I hold Omerta Syndicate in high regard, for several reasons. I personally believe that Omerta Syndicate is simply the other side of the coin; any entity that opposes the corrupt, and inefficent enclosurist alliances gets an A in my book, regardless of their means. We in the Star Fraction have similar ideals, only different rules of engagement.
Perhaps I am in the minority, though. I consider myself more militant than much of the rest of Star Fraction.
This being said, I'm also disturbed by the bellicose remarks regarding a possible intervention by Omerta on behalf of the Kimotoro Directive. Why would an enlightened corporation such as Omerta seek to align with such a backward, nationalist organization as KD? They've barely set foot outside their beloved State into the great unknown. They know nothing of true freedom. They seek to impose their deranged worldview upon the Outer Regions.
I, for one, know exactly who I support in this conflict.

First off, Ms. Akahoshi, let me say that I have nothing but a profound respect for you and I was always honored when you graced one of our fleets.
Originally by: Shintoko Akahoshi You, on the other hand, come freshly into the alliance with the blood of your years of indiscriminant killing on your hands. Note that this isn't a value judgement: I have the same blood on my hands as you do on yours. However, I won't claim to be somehow cleansed of this blood should I change my employer.
I know my transgressions Ms. Akahoshi, and I understand what I have done. If the blood on my hands was easy to clean, I would not be in Star Fraction today. A better choice would have been for me to my leave of the Corporation I called home for so long and become a fat and lazy miner. Simply watching my wallet fill with isk and not even glancing at the world around me.
I think it is better for me to atone by doing something for the betterment of the very people I have harmed. I would be a peace-maker or a relief-worker but I have no skills in either. The only thing I know how to do is fight, and so I have decided to join the only organization that fights for the freedoms I took from those around me. That is why The Star Fraction is the only choice for me.
I guess that brings us to Omerta Syndicate.
Well, to be quite honest, I could really care less about Kyoko. I have never even had a conversation with the lady. My ties with the Black Rabbits are the same ties that I have with you, that of wingmen who I fought and died with on many ocations. That may give me some sympathy to them, but not their cause. I am under no illusions as to who and what they are.
My issues with the Syndicate are far deeper than that. The Syndicate is becomming a corp that lashes out at anything that moves. A loose cabal of pilots who's only mission in life is to see peoples hard work turn into wreckage for their amusement. You are currently squandering the chances I did long ago.
You are a mirror into which I see what I was and am, and what I do not want to be anymore.
Your faithful wingman, Jonny Damordred

I would really like to know what you think you are reffering to here.
As per the rest, this has really gone off topic and the history of Comrade Damodred and the nature of Omerta Syndicate need not be discussed here. Its no secret that Omerta Syndicate indescriminately shoots neutrals and the Star Fraction opinion of such policies is likewise quite well known. Every Star Fraction pilot abides by Star Fraction policy regardless of their history. I think nothing more really need be said here on that topic.

I'm suprised there hasn't been more KD members in this conversation. It seems that APEX's departure may have hit them harder than I first guessed.
Or, maybe they just don't care about Mito anymore, since it was APEX that convinced them to move there anyway. I guess the Black Rabbits will have to leave their "territory" if they want a fight.

Shameful? I didn't say anything like that, you've resorted to simply inventing something to argue against that isn't there.
As for the NBSI policy, i find it highly odd that you'd call us on that while mouthing off supporting Guristas, in a thread in which they're extorting an alliance.
You're no hero, no martyr, and you're certainly no better than the proverbial mud you're trying to seperate yourself from, get over yourself and realise that you're speaking to people who've held your corporation and alliance in high regard for a long time.

Let this be clear:
Jonny Damordred has my every confidence. He has erred in the past, so have I, but he recognizes this and is willing to put his skills towards better causes. Any person or entity that slanders him for a past that he is now seeking to set straight, is also slandering me.
As for the whole founding member or whatnot, any attempt by an NBSI entity to claim any sort of moral high-ground over a pilot currently in Star Fraction and Tabula Rasa is laughable. I know why Omerta supported and helped found Star Fraction - I was it's Political Officer at the time, for those who did not know that - and that discussion is old and by the wayside.
If you do not appreciate a Tabula Rasa pilot calling you on your change of heart ragarding target selection protocol, feel free to bring us your war declaration. If this is not desirable, please help me by leaving this post here as the final entry on this thread hijack. If you wish for a perpetuation of this discussion, please open a new thread and I shall personally indulge you.
