Edited by: Par''Gellen on 02/10/2006 01:03:13 I need tips for doing this mission. When I warp in I'm smack in the middle of a ton of ships that blow me away in less than a minute. This is in a 80% resistance across the board Dominix with a T2 Large Armor Rep running and a buddy in an Armageddon healing me with a Large Remote Armor Rep and a Medium 'Solace' Remote Rep. The speed at which they kill me is really quite amazing considering the tank and healer. Any advice? ---

Edited by: Esaka on 02/10/2006 01:51:57 Hm... from soloing i can say that you only get full stage aggro if you use drones. Assuming that a second player has the same effect i'd say try to do the first stage alone and get your pal in later. Edit: and make sure you really have your 80%+ on explosion as thats Angel primary damage type. -------------------------------------- Agent & Mission-Info: http://www.eveinfo.com Evewide Market-Info: http://eve-central.com/ |

I never encountered a drone aggro thing in this mission, I never get full stage aggro as well.
But unfortunately, I don't have any further advice.

Your domi agroes all if you use drones you get full agro if you dont manage your drones well. In the 6 times I did this one I only once got agro at warp in. If you dont get this, fly out until you are save out of that pocket.
The first stage should not be hard, even in an armor tanked Domi, which takes a beating by the explosive, thermal and kinetic damage from the Angel rats. . Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

I guess I was just unlucky then. Here is what happened. I warped in and rats were all around me and I was sitting at less than 1000 meters from an accelleration gate. Nothing agro'ed me as I exited warp. Just to see what would agro me when I started shooting I targetted the closest NPC (a battleship sitting about 13km dead in front of me) and shot it with my guns. My tank was running (80% in Kinetic, Thermal, Explosive, 78% in EM, 1 T2 Large Armor Repairer). As soon as I shot the NPC in front of me the entire screen lit up and agro'd me. I hadn't launched my drones and my buddy hadn't arrived to heal me yet. I told my gang mates to warp to me (since I already had full agro however unintentional, waiting any longer seemed stupid ). I was down to half armor in the amount of time it took them to warp in from the entrance gate. Almost immediately my friend starts healing my armor with a large and a medium remote rep. I watched my armor bounce up and down as I was being repaired by him and myself and the damaging was far outstretching the repairing. When my hull started taking damage I told everyone to run and was dead before they could start warping. Considering the healing, tank, and self rep, the amount of damage I was taking was astonishing! Oh well... Maybe next time I'll go in with something extremely fast to draw them away from the drop point before heading back in with a battleship. ---

i also experienced a stage agro in this mission once. what i did was immediatly approaching the gate and locking the nearest group, before they even started locking me.
some npcs don't like movement i assume
rewarped, held still until first npc locked, and everything was fine again
apart from this thread being not the common "L4 Vengeance advice" one, can we have a sticky vengeance thread? almost ignored it because i was thinking of whinings about Rachen's tank :)

I also started approaching the gate when I exited warp. Hmm, that may be what made them all angry. I'll try sitting still next time. Thanks for the input! ---

I did this very mission today, it was pretty easy up until the last level, which I had to warp out of a good number of times.
I didn't get aggressed by everything at once though, they always came in their usual spawn groups.

First thing i did in this mission, is what i usally do on all.....allign and full speed. Then i start killing of frigs, cruisers and BS...in that order. When doing it this way im able to get away from most of the fire, and i have no problem tanking it with 1 T2 LAR.

This was (in bold) your mistake I believe. Panic ?? Why you won't move away slightly and see the situation more clearly. Sometimes a BS sitting just 4km away won't aggro you even after you start fighting with the correct npc group which I'm still trying to solve the pattern :)Well, at least I've solved the kill order / aggro pattern for AE-4.
I know it doesn't totally answer you, but I hope helps for some others:) Good luck.

Well the main reason was that I had never done that particular mission before so I didn't know what to expect. I found it odd that none of the npc's floating so close to me even seemed to care that I was there. So I shot one to see what would happen I found out rather quickly ---

Ahh, in these conditions which noone aggro you by default; I choose to move away about 40-50 km. minimum. Then align to warp point, move slowly and shoot the closest one. That gives me enough time to warp out before my a** jammed if all zone goes flashing.

1. Switch on your shield hardeners. 2. Warp in. 3. Warp align and set speed to full. Continue at full speed toward your warp out point. 4. A group will target you. Lock onto this group only. Do not release drones. 5. Start to shoot your group in your prefered order. I go for Cruisers, then Frigates, then Battleships. 6. Continue until the group is dead. At close to your maximum targeting range chose another group to lock onto and begin to shoot them. You can choose to continue to fly toward your warp out point if they get close enough to cause you any problems. 7. Move to near maximum range for the remaining group and target lock. 8. Fire upon them so they aggro you, then release your drones. 9. Repeat 6. 10. You win!
