like most amarr ships, it will suck for most solo work. in a fleet, at range, it will be scary.
now we just need an actual sniper ship, you know, one with a range bonus. That all other races have...

if the abaddon has even 5 more cpu then an apoc, then apoc wont even be good at mining....in fact all races have 8 turret BS now, so everyone can BS mine with 8 miner2s....the only real BS role amarr had, such a shame.

You know, the fact that the Abaddon doesn't have a cap reduction made me hope (and it is a very slim hope) that maybe the devs have implemented a 50% cap reduction across the board on all ships. That could explain why no reply was made on "the Amarr thread".
Personally, I'm not waiting to see... already sitting in a Ferox and can't wait for the Rohk!

Wheres the problem?
Full rack of Mega Pulse T2's use about 40 cap/sec. A large rep uses about 35 cap/sec.
Cap inject can support 2 large reps, so don't fit dual rep setups with lasers.
With EANM built in fitting 2x EANM + damage control gives: EM 87.34% EXP 74.69% KIN 76.27% THERM 79.43%
With 5 lows left, a few plates, a large rep, maybe a few damage mods....
If you need a dual rep setup then use projectiles, its a valid option, a dual large T2 rep setup with those resists will tank (remove): ~600 dps from a Pest's damage ~645 dps from a Mega's damage ~825 dps from a Geddon's damage (lets not get into EANM tanks here. Tux just has a sense of humour giving a Amarr ship a built in EANM when they're complaining EANM have ruined lasers damage ).

this show cases the problem with lasers tho. Amarr ships should not NEED to fit projectiles to become useful, the laser setup should also be useful, and maybe a projectile setup that is useful in a different way, not a projectile setup that is more useful in EVERY way.
reduce cap usuage on all lasers by 5% maybe? and make the cap reduction bonus 5%? then make more ships without it, then not having it isnt so painful? course, having it only at 5% makes it that much less useful on the ships that do have it.....

Wouldn't happen. If that were true, the Abaddon would take over the roles of both the Apoc and the Geddon.
CCP seems to want the Abaddon to be good at either tanking or ganking, but not both at the same time. However, considering the lack of a laser cap use bonus, I can't imagine it being able to run a tank setup with lasers.

Uh, wait a second, wouldn't a 8x MDCML "mining tier 3 BS" setup with kazoolaloads of mining upgrades and co-procs in lows be better as the covetor in mining ops ? Especially the one that'll have most CPU to start with (let me guess, the Caldari one) ? Anybody want to try and run some scarry numbers with maxed-out mining setups/skills ? __ Always question everything. Including yourself. |

no armor repairers (maybe just a medium), no cap boosters... and a lot of plates and bug guns... imo it will be a scaring ship in these roles :)

mining upgrades take 30 cpu iirc plus the percentage increase to each lasers use, which stacks with each upgrade. with 2x dread guristas co proc, getting 2 upgrades on an apoc is difficult. each upgrade will become increasingly so, and the caldari BS *should* have the least number of low slots...... covetor will remain king, along with hulk.
