Which laptop video cards are compatable? I am looking at a ATI Radeon Xpress 200m will it run Eve?

Not experience, but the x200m is pretty mediocre.
Its better than Intel Integrated, but its not going to be very impressive.

I have intel Integrated on my laptop - and it is crap compared to my desktop. But it works.

Here's the info from Wikipedia:
Board Name: Xpress 200
Core Type: RS480
Die Process: 130nm
Core speed (Mhz): 333
RAM speed (Mhz): N/A
Fillrate (MTex/s): 666
Notes: Based on X300. Partial vertex shader. Hypermemory-like memory set up. 0 MB - 128 MB local RAM. Uses system RAM as well. SurroundView 3-display (with separate ATI card).
Pixel pipelines: 2
Vertex pipelines: 0.5 (!)
In summary, it uses an outdated core (the same as the 9600XT) with a very low core speed, two pixel pipelines, half of a vertex pipeline (it hackneys it basically), a minimal core speed, and horrible memory (due to the fact that it uses system memory rather than on-card memory).
Its probably not much better than a GeForce 2 MX. Its worse than I thought 
According to Anandtech it is a mere 2.5 times better than Intel's IGA900.

The Intel onbord 128MB shared in my 12" Notebook can run it at constant 35FPS. A friend of mine has a way better Notebook but gets glitches on the text so he can't play it.

i use a hp pvilion dv5000... whit 1 gig memory, and on board 128 ati mobility radeon xpress 200 series whit on board memory.. how ewer... i am thinking on replazing the currnet 100gig hd 5.400 rpm whit a 7.500 rpm disk... in hope to improve performance a bit....

As many others have said, do yourself a favor and get something other than the integrated cards. Personally, the Laptop I use to play Eve uses an Nvidia 6800Go, and runs Eve quite well. Notebooks with cards of this type are also not terribly expensive these days - you should be able to find one for 1k or less (US).
For a little bit more money, but a very nice gaming notebook, check out the Dell Inspiron 1705. Online coupons and specials can get you a well rounded setup for around 1500.

Runs one client smoothly at 1680x1050 (15.4" scrn), two clients can be run, but generally one gets a little bit jumpy.

It's important to note that EVE is not the most highly GPU intensive game around.
Nor does eve rely on the GPU entirely. A fast processor and good memory can make up for a weaker graphics card.
I run two computers side by side. So I have some very good data to work from.
both computers are using Fx 6600gt 256 vivo cards. (the same exact card in both)
One computer is a X2 4000+
The other is 3500+
Memory is equal in both.
The only other major differance is sound cards, but I haven't done much testing on that front.
The dual core has better frame rates under heavy load (+10), but the same frame rate under light load (about 50 average).
Just my 2 cents.
I would tend to think that better graphics card is better performance, but it's not the only consideration.

on my 2.5 yr old laptop, an Inspiron 8600, with a P4 1700 and radeon 9600 mobility, I have run 3 accts simul with tolerable lag. That is I could mine in 0.0 with no help. ;)
Normally 2 clients and virtually no client side lag.
Incidentally I might be talked into selling the laptop. ;)

...I've used my laptop on POS assaults - it has a radeon 9000. Is that really better than some of the chipsets they're putting into laptops these days?

ATI cards can handle a lot. I run a second account on mine when I need to scout, and it has an ATI Radeon 7500. It's ancient and it still works.

I got this IBM Thinkpad T43 with an ATI Mobility Radeon x300.
Runs Eve nicely, and runs 2 instances of it not bad either. Stay away from Intel integrated graphics cards, as has been said a lot above

I have a Toshiba Satellite, with Intel P4, 3.2Ghz, 512Mb. The videocard is an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 IGP. I run EVE just fine at 1280x800.

Got a Dell Inspiron w/Core 2 Duo and ATI x1300 Mobility.
Has no problems at all with EVE.
And I'm running Vista RC1 on this laptop. EVE works just fine.

Have some GFX crashes rarely [weired pattern covers screen]
Not sure if this is hardware or driver realated.
Have to check by Gold Support.
