While the ability to search for metalevels and metatypes is going to be pretty awesome I have a request for additional day to day functionality...
Give us the ability to search for Ore rather than specific ores (of if that's already possible then someone tell me how  ).
I buy a reasonable quantity of ore, of various types and with multiple jump ranges on the orders and it sucks when it comes to collecting it all up to have to search for Plagioclase, Veld...etc, turning up mining crystals and so forth in the process...
One search which showed everything from Aristite to Arkonor would be awesome... |

You think bringing back a gadzillion irrelevant results, leading the user to do several more queries in search of what he's looking for doesn't cause DB load?
I would expect search improvements, done well, to actually help the DB load in real life. A little more work per query, but overall, factoring in user behavior, less load. |

To go the other way enterily could we get ability to search by typeID and itemID?

Add a button that will launch the IGB to the URL of the EVELOPEDIA page, or, a quick reference page in EVELOPEDIA. That way it'd be always at our finger tips, and if changes happen, you don't have to document the change in-game, just on a web page. |

Please do this for people and places. You have far too many search options currently. Whoever searches on constellations and regions?  I was thinking about putting in a feature request but abbreviated keywords would be better.

But... will this sift through things you got in other containers?
So far, if you had your stuff sorted in cans, you were pretty much out of luck searching for some implant you knew you had...
And I pretty much always have most things in cans, cause otherwise my hangar would be a 20-page long mess |

I am trying to reorganize my assets, and all I keep finding are stations with shuttles and Velators. I want to filter those stations out, please. |

does not go far enough, you also need to streamline the naming of the modules, or have meta item aso show up when their corresponding tech1 item is searched.
exemple:
stais webifier (t1)
stasis web
'Langour' drive disrupor
fleeting propulsion inhibitor
pattern stasis web
either rename them to be all "web" or "webifier"
eg. langour webifier, fleeting propulsion webifier
or as i said make the search include all meta items when a tech1 is searched.

So i accidently dragged and dropped a bpo into my hangar and it fell into one of the hundreds boxes inside my hangar, do i find it with the search ?
Will i also find it remotely ?
I put the ship into pos in hangar and forgot to take it out, will i find it with this shiny search function ?
The ship is inside a carrier, will i find the bpo? And how about the corporate hangars ? How about the wrapped boxes inside this corp hangar ?
