Well, this thread seemed off to a good start with Bella actually chiming in and replying. But now that it's about to grow into a hate-fest, I have a feeling we won't be hearing much from CCP anymore. At least not on the real issues. |

Open up the settings menu causes a graphics settings refresh every time it is closed again, regardless of whether changes have been made.
Trivial issue, perhaps.
I usually start the game in windowed mode just in case the game fails to load, or the graphics fail to display and the screen just stays black, or something else goes wrong. Then I toggle to full screen when I am sure I am not going to crash stepping through the phases of login. (We can ignore the annoyance issue of finding it necessary to do this in the first place for now.)
Now, if I open the settings menu, closing it kicks me back to original windowed mode, instead of the current full screen mode. Before it just brought me back to where ever I was before I hit escape. |

EDIT: Solved. ATI Catalyst Morphological filtering enabled screws up the Eve Fonts. This must be disabled to play Eve.
Is it just me or are the in game fonts over-antialiased so as to make them very hard to read at any of the settings (condensed, normal, wide).
Running at 2560x1600 on a 30" Screen with 2x ATI 6970 cards in crossfire. Let me know if there is a simple fix that I am missing, otherwise I can post some screen shots and DXDiag information etc...

ok tested several times now.
When you undock your ship appears in space about 5 seconds or so before you can see anything but a black screen. Which if you are at war, or there are gankers waiting.. is a reaaally long time. |

Any word on whether or not the ECM "perma-jam" some of us are experiencing is "working as intended" or a "bonus feature"? |

If it's an intended feature, it's going to be a major detractor for anyone running anomalies solo. I don't know what Guristas missions are like in Empire, but I know the ECM is alive and well in northern 0.0 with a fury I've never seen before. Tengu + Dissolution Sequencer + ECCM stays permajammed for the first wave of a station Sanctum. I don't run anoms often (maybe once or twice a week at most) when I need a bit of extra liquid isk. When I do, I use a dual Tengu / Gila team to do it, assigning drones to the Tengu. Turns out that unless I send the Gila in first to take the ECM aggro, the Tengu with it's ridiculously high sensor strength is permajammed until those cruisers are eliminated. There's no way there could be such a permanent jam happening without a bug. The statistical mathematics of the jam formula, even taking the random number into accout, say it's impossible unless it's bugged.
So in the end, this doesn't affect me much at all as I have a workaround, but I do hope it gets addressed, as it's a real pain in the ass for people in general.
TIP OF THE DAY FOR CCP: If it's not broken, don't f@#ck with it. |

My only experience with it yesterday was in a L4 mission against Guristas. In the 4th pocket, i hit a spawn with 4 Dire Gurista Despoilers and 4 Pithi Exterminators. I was 95% perma-jammed. I had company along, so it wasn't as horrible as it could have been, but, i agree, the formula listed on the EVElopedia page suggests the chance of them successfully jamming me for that long in a battleship is highly unlikely. |

All NPCs that use jamming have been streamlined in functionality and you can now fit your ship to counteract them.
I understand that you wanted to get some balance and can't be to easy but what now happens with guristas is madness.

Ok... tried for the last time to replace 103 MB of missing files from my client using repair tool, which at some point stops getting data from the server ( proof : http://i.imgur.com/kwE5F.png ). Looks like the only option for me is to re-download the client again , but I would rather cancel my subscription than to download again 8 GB . In fact it's a pretty good idea since customer support is a total absence in here and they just don't give a ****... Meanwhile CCP can www.swallow-my-****.com |

Yeah. I can't remember offhand what my sensor strength is, but it's in the 40s, which is ridiculously hard to jam. A well skilled Falcon pilot with 3 racial ECMs modules only stands a 62% chance of jamming me at all with this fit, and it's been tested. Yet, the rats are getting a successful jam every time means there's something really wrong. |

What is up with the suspisciously erratic loadtime of the client?
Sometimes it just sits there with the spash screen for 5-10 seconds. It is a network thing? The CPU, disk and network is otherwise unoccupied. Tried opening and closing the client 12 times, none of them felt like they were taking the same time.
And O M G, the cpu use of the browser (firefox) while typing in this box. Jumps up and down with 15%-20% spikes, then settles down then you take break from typing. For comparison, massive spammy junktyping in wordpad can only bring it to 3%. Weird script **** must be going on. Massive spammy junktyping here: brings a core up to 35% load.
And typing in other places on the net (blogs), does not present near the load that is going on here.
btw goddam, that is one long string. <input type="hidden" name="__VIEWSTATE" id="__VIEWSTATE" value="blabbla2mileslong". That line (including tags) was 13433 chars long. What the hell is that.

The "stack all" bug remains. It stacks things in whatever order it feels like - sometimes using the first stack from top, sometimes the last from bottom. This behaviour makes sorting a hangar by stacking certain modules etc. almost impossible. You inevitably end up with a giant mess you have to sort again manually. |

Well i finally decided to go ahead and deinstall absolutely everything and try again. What's funny is, that right at about 80% of part 3/3 of the installation i get some error message i can't exactly remember now, something about that is was corrupted or so, and the installer shut down. I already started to freak again after waiting another 3h. But so I tried to load it up anywa and miraculously it worked!

Sorry. Make that 68.6 points on my sensor strength, and they still manage to permajam me. It's about 40 without the ECCM on. Yeah, something is wrong. |

The Viewstate thing is a Microsoft .Net method of persisting the state of form controls. If they don't want to store it on their server then they pass it down to us in the shape of that hidden input field. Share the love. |

Jesus. I just profiled this page in Firebug. It looks, to me, like the delays are caused in part by Firefox spending 25% of its time running a jQuery function called href, and also by the extreme number of AJAX postbacks that are going on. It looks like the typing window sends all that Viewstate back every 15 seconds with an average of 250ms roundtrip.
I assume this is because it's trying to autosave a copy of these precious words. And waste both CCP's and my bandwidth.
CCP - Please use a Javascript profiler like FIrebug for Firefox to show how much extra traffic/work is being produced! JQuery is great, AJAX is great, but you've gone a bit mental on them here!
And make my ship hover again, damn it.

That would explain why every fifteen seconds the browser resets any nested scrolling windows (there are some, for instance on this very edit page) back to the top, stealing the scroller away from you and making content below the fold damn hard to read. |

PC User.
I used the re-customization service in a station and everything was fine. Then I noticed someone in a chat channel had a new avatar but only if I clicked on them to view their info pane. In the member list of the chat channel and when the spoke in the chat channel, their old portrait was displayed.
I decided to clear my cache (Clear all cache files), and when I got back to the login screen, my own portrait was reverted. It stayed reverted when I got back in-game.
I have not used my free re-sculpt, nor do I want to (yet). I hope you don't make me :p
EDIT: My portrait here on the forum was the old one, but after posting or editing this, it updated. In-game it's still the old one.
EDIT 2: The Switch Character page here ( https://gate.eveonline.c...LogOn/CharacterSelection ) shows the old portrait, but the new one is updated at the top right of the screen itself (the small one where the Profile Settings link is). That is, it's showing me 2 different portraits for this character on the same page! As for in-game, I just re-logged and it's still showing the old one there.
EDIT 3: Logging out of Eve Gate and back in updated it in the Switch Character page. I'm much more interested in the in-game being accurate, however. An additional cache clearing in-game didn't help.
EDIT 4: A few hours later, I relogged and the new one is back. However, other people see my old one in chat windows (but not if they manually pull up my profile). |
