well firstly i don't care how long it would take before we can walk around stations and planets ASLONG AS it happens
let me make a list of the things i would like :)
1)a character like they do on world of warcraft just make the game much more realistic and serious (instead of the cartoony kiddy stylings of world of warcraft)
2) Once we have a character we could improve them physically like giving them armour and weapons
3) character equipment should be made easily obtainable and basically certain trade goods that people haul around would be usable by your character for example hand held guns and planetary vehicles as well as certain other "things" (you know what i mean :))
4) surface and planetary wars e.g the guristas are invading a planetary mining colany and you've been asked to land and join the fight against them by shooting their ground troops in an fps style war or attacking there troop carrier ships in space orbitting the planet
5) having stations to dock in will increase the social side of the game for example in world of warcraft many things happen and many items are around just for fun eve could have the same sort of things for example your character getting drunk increases charisma for a short time but prevents you from legally flying your ship or using firearms (you can still do these things but the cops will sure as hell not like it)
6) you could take part in certain careers for example surface mining where you would be paid a certain amount of isk for how long you mine or as i mentioned earlier the junk shop where you attemtp to sell your trade goods to private parties (these trade goods being things you've actually made)or even mechanic where you can help fix other peoples ships (for a fee
i have loads og ideas buzzing around in my head i'll post them as i think em and please let me know what you think :)

*hands OP a flamesuit* Mentioning wow too much can cause you meantal harm.
Other than that, this has been suggested... since the game came out.
But... armor? What the heck good does armor do in a futureistic setting? You aren't fighting with swords.
This thread should be in Features and Ideas Discussion anyway.

even though in star trek it never did those klingon guys any good

That idea reminds me of Earth and Beyond. It would be cool to see everyone in a station or do actual trades face to face.

Most people wearing a bulletproof vest - a.k.a. body armour - aren't fighting with swords either 
But I think Eve should just stick to fighting with ships. The only reason I'd get out of my ship at a station is to get to a bar

You can do all of this right now:
1. Go to Start, Control Panel
2. Double-click Add/Remove programs.
3. Locate EVE Online and click Remove
4. You can now walk around in your ship!

oh lol was sarcasm really needed but i do see your point i'm just saying face to face trades and killing things in an fps fasion then walking around in a 3rd persopn view and then blowing some guy up ina space ship would rock my socks i aint fussed wether or not people disagree i'm just saying this is what i would like to see
still if this kinda stuff never happened i'd still play eve anyway just for its cool graphics and the ability to talk to my pen pals with ease instead of waiting ages to hear from them

This is the type of game that will most likely never have that. Simply put, it's not what CCP wants from their game.
But of course, you are entitled to your opinion and are free to discuss anything in Eve

1-3)Eve isnt about walking about as a charachter, if you want to do that go play something else like WoW, EQ or any of the other numerous fantasy games out there. It's doubtful this will ever happen in Eve.
4) The devs have mentioned this in the past, however I highly doubt its going to be fps style
5) We have stations to dock in already, in Eve your charachter is a POD PILOT, they basically live in their pod
6) If you have ideas send them to CCP. However mining, and trading are already in the game.
So far I've seen 2 threads from you that have almost no point and pretty much seem to be flame bait.
I'm not an alt, I just don't have a face. |

EvE is not the game you are looking for.
It¦s like buying a racing game an demand that you can get out of your car and do some kind of action adventure. 
If you want a fps style futuristic mmorpg try Face of Mankind or Planetside.

oh come on thats just nasty
and i do try hard with grammer but i have poor eye sight and i'm dyslexic
also i was just telling you guys my opinion if you happen to disagree then so say in a calm and friendly manner
also i've played many mmorpg's and everytime they've lacked in some areas and excelled in others which is why i'd love the ability to mix and match certain things
also as i said in my other threads i'm new to forums so i've tried to learn all the rules as best i can but if people are going to be nasty to me i'll keep my opinions to myself

I would love to walk around as a char and not only as a ship, in FPS style as well. the idea makes me giddy with happyness :D

no not really eve is awesome i just want more features
guess nobodies ever taken the advantage of a multiple style game
well till spore comes out next year anyway
what i'm saying is i love eve the way it is i just want them to have walking on stations and planet support after that its up to ccp what they let us do whilst were walking around i just posted some ideas as to what we could do

This thread wins for being simply silly.
At this time CCP have other things to worry about and an fps is the least of them. Maybe in the future but not yet.
I mean for example we expect to see planetary flight first and thats with kali. The next big patch. Perhaps after that we could see ourselves.
You never know.
On the other hand, this sounds like a joke thread from verone or such. Is he really that bored???

I have sen this topic discussed in some interview or devblog, I just can't remember where. But basically it was (parapharased) "If we have characters walking around, we need a way for them to kill each other. If we do that, we have to take time away from space and we have not even come close to doing all the things we want to with space"
At most I would like to be able to walk around in a space station for the social aspect, but I don't want any time taken away from the improvement of the space game.

I'm happy with it the way it is atm. If I want to shoot someone face to face in an fps style, I'll tell my PC to start up BF2 or HL2 instead of EVE tbh. If I want to run around with a toon and talk to people it'll be Guild Wars (well would have been, but everyone has left the one I've got, and I'm not paying out ú30 for a game I'll only play on patch days!)
Luckily, I usually want to fly around in a space ship of some description, making things go BOOM!

What we need is a mod for Half-Life that's set in an Outpost. Get your marines and small arms and go start some fights.
And the Marines wear armor. Armor is fine, I just can't think of a good reason for a Pod Pilot to wear it. You're behind 1600mm of rolled tungsten most of the time, and clones don't fear death anyway. At least mine don't seem to.
In all seriousness, there's absolutely no good reason for Pod PIlots to participate in infantry warfare, and walking around stations is pure vanity. Rein it in, and get back in your ship. There's lots of fun to be had without a dress-up doll to play with.

I would like to make use of hte exoctic dancers and slave girls I carry around all the time in my hold.
So after a long trip into the heart of deep space I could come back have my pod rolled out on a cart of some sort where the hanger workers can take like a chainsaw and somehow cut me outta the pod. Finally I could wash this god forsaken slime off my body.
After a few months of muscel rehibilitation I could have the energy to grab one of those hot lil minnie slave girls and along with a few exotic dancers slap a few ascn fan boys outta the way and head of to the local jita 6 motel for the night.
If your gonna come up with a decent idea ffs dont let it be surface mining wth man, surface mining /me shakes his head in disbelief
This Idea fully supported by evolution, (my idea not surface mining ofc)

Same here :) It was my first mmorpg. It was awesome, but it lacked the PvP aspect :s

red, brown, green, blue, and such.
And all roid fields look alike and there are what 3 styles of wrap gates?
