LeMonde	Posted - 2006.10.09 13:23:00 - [1] FanFest EVE Tournament Rules General Players are randomly paired together into teams of two. The tournament is single-elimination. Teams start 20 km each other. The arena size is 40 km. A maximum of 64 teams are allowed. The tournament is played on the test server. If after 15 minutes, there is a draw and teams have equal numbers of ships remaining, the match will be repeated in Tech 1 frigates. Ships & Fitting Players can pick any Tech 1 cruiser to pilot. Cloaking is not allowed. Only Tech 1, Tech 2 and COSMOS modules/drones are allowed. Target jamming, sensor dampening and tracking disrupting is not allowed. This includes drones which might have these effects. Implants are not allowed. Sign-ups will start soon.

You need to be an all round good EVE player to win this thing. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make the Fanfest this year, but shall return in 2007 to reclaim the crown . Seriously tho, the winners of the tournament this year will command some serious respect.

Then finaly we have ECM in there. The only thing I want to know and I really think this should be clear. The 15 minute rule, how sure are we that this rule will be fully implemented this time the confusion we have seen in the last tournament was no good at all. The last thign and that is something I am serious about, please next time make it so that corps can enter not alliances. That way we can have inner alliance fights and the smaller guys stand a chance. I can imagine that the big boys in certain alliances would not mind slugging it out once amongst each other. The fact that only alliances can fight now means that some of darn good PvP pilots out there cannot enter as their alliance does not have enough capable people willing to risk loosing a few BS's. Or even worse they are not part of a alliance. (Maybe the Mimatar can set up that one up as they seem more the types for smaller scale warfare) --------------------------------------- The edit Oh, and what is there in it for the winners? No mention of that so far I woudl love to see some new super rare ships being produced for this purpose. Interestingly, TII ammo is legal due to an absence of 'can't use' statement. I like the idea of T1 cruisers and no implants... removes the 'isk' variable from the equation. Tedric.

The whole competition is held on an internal LAN at the event. And FYI, it still lags sometimes ;). There is no limit to how many people can sign up from a corp or alliance. There were 64 spots last time and registration was first come first seve. You pick a number out of a hat and get put on the board at that spot. When all the numbers are gone you can see who you will have to fight against and in this case who you are paired with. Its all random.
