100 runs? Considering that the tech 1 15% version sell for 25-30 mill each, thats quite something.

edit: 18bil -> 250mil...I was so shocked by this news that I mixed a big number with another even bigger number
If that is true, ccp might as well give away a Titan ffs... did they mean to type Damage Control I perhaps? This is just stupid. The guy will play Eve with free money forever.

First of all, a Damage Control II BPC is worth alot more then a cap recharger II bpc seeing as how DAMAGE CONTROL IIs DON'T EVEN HAVE A BPO SEEDED!!!
Oh yeah, and giving in game prizes for out of game actions is stupid.

I did too. Plus, out of game items mean a lot more to me than in game items.

These items are so valuable: would it be a good ISK investment to go buy a bunch of 30day codes, make a huge bunch of buddies and activate them and hope to get the DCII BPCs. Sell the characters near the end of the period to recoup some of the ISK. Only problem is the transfer fee.. which sinks the recoup.
Hmm, let's do the math here using wild guesses for all statistics, like all good forum posts. If each run of the DCII were worth 100mil (unseeded item everyone is going to want to fit, this is probably low), that prize is worth 10billion isk. 10billion is divided by 50k activated buddies in the last 6 months yields 2 million ISK expected value per buddy. This ignores the other two possible prizes. OK, so this amount is much less than the going rate for a 30 day code even assuming I'm off considerably on my guesses. So people will probably continue to just sell timecodes rather than gaming this lottery.
Still, it's a lot of value to drop in some lucky person's lap. The other prizes are pretty sweet too. Hope I win if it doesn't get changed.
But I really think it should be. Raffle stuff should not be useful in-game items. It should be things like game time being credited to your account, or merchandise from the eve store, or turning your ships a special color for a month without changing their stats.

Yeah, how come an ultra-rare (and hence almost priceless) blueprint (and with 100 copies nevertheless, worst case scenario price drops to about 100 mil, so that's 10bil for you right there) gets handed as SECOND prize rather than first prize (first prize being a 50x25 mil max, a mere 1.25 bil compared to the estimated 10 bil for the DCII) ? __ Always question everything. Including yourself. |

Cap Recharger II: 50 units, demand for even as many as 150 000 units. DCII: 100 units, nearly 75 000 potential users.
I doubt neither of those is going to affect the price...

agreed. why not just give 1 RUN BPCs of these (250 wonderful prizes!) or 5 run bpcs (50 wonderful prizes) at random? a 10bn second prize.......it's enough to unbalance *somewhere*, whether it's that person's eve experience (everything after might be rubbish) or a corp, etc.
It's because ingame prizes don't cost anything ;)
Maybe CCP could ask the community what they think a few good prizes would be next month. Why not give out skillpoints or something?

Just want to agree with this. If anyone actually gets a DCII 100 run BPC and knows the value, (s)he's actually going to make 75Bn out of these over the next 6 months, or aim to. (s)He'll sell a few in Jita, a few in Amarr, a few in Ours, wait til they go, and sell a few more. and those pesky mission runners will buy them! a dozen 90 day GTC's and he'll still have 82 DCII's to sell over however long he wants. Worse case scenario he could sell them for 20m each and make 1.6bn spare.

um wont the prizes go to the spamer and abusers of alts who make new accounts all the time, and macroers signing up their alts or somthing?
Besides most of my mates who play now signed up of their own accord after i told em about the game, so not technicly buddies.
The prizes are awsome tho a shame i wont be elegible to win any of em
Good luck folks
