I have created alt chars but rarely use them. Use them to scout market prices in different regions, one is trained to level 2 industrial (wow) I use him to fly an indy safely across the empire during wars.

I have two characters but I don't dual box. I play them one at a time. They share money and stuff through escrow, but that's it. I started the second character because I wanted to explore the new Invention profession coming in Kali, but I (Guillame) do not have any industry skills and have a hardcore combat skill queue in EVEMON that I did not want to delay. So I started a second character to train up industry and covert ops/recon skills.

I have 2 seperate character accounts. This one I am using here in the forum is my main one, and my other one is just used for hauling things such as ore when I am mining, or picking up the loot from a mission when there is alot. I run them both at the same time occasionally. But more often than not, the second character (or alt if you may) stays offline until I need him. I find it more convienient not to have to run back and get a hauler to pick stuff up. Plus there is less of a chance of things being stolen by thieves when I use my other character to haul. Also comes in hand when I have to move a very large amount of materials. Just form a gang with my other character, load both our mammoths, and off we go.

1 character here, plus a couple of half-hearted stabs at other characters (much like my pvp) to explore something new. There was never a connection between them, though. |

Not only 1 character I've here, but 1 corporation I was born In as well... 1 year 7 month's and couple of days... And I'm proud I arranged everything by myself and only by one char as well as in other game I created only 1 char too...

I played 1 account only for 1 year 3 months. Now I cant even imagine playing eve without my alt now, he part of everything I do in eve. He transports ships, mines, mission runs,npc's, scouts, trades and a pretty good drone pilot. Matter of fact hes more usefull than my main because I trained him to be good at all the stuff I didn't want my main doing.

Okay well .. 2 accounts. One 28mil SP and one with 37mil SP.
And I play WoW (I pay EVE to have these forums to mock up WoW haters and to train skills on EVE. Also give out loans and reap off huge intrests  )
