Edited by: Nicelne on 16/10/2006 07:26:49 You might want to give us the context. It sounds as though you're peeved because you aren't being smart and you're getting popped in low-sec by pirates and are subsequently forced to spend all day rebuilding your ship (only in turn to get it popped right afterwards again). I won't join the many flames that will follow if that was the case, but if you're seriously willing to quite because of a little totally avoidable inconvinience, that's your perogative. Have fun. 'cause I've always wanted to say this... CAN I HAVE YOUR STUFF? --- They whine, they beg, they ***** and bay, they sob, they cry, they weep all day, yet still the manage to get their way...

well, 0.5+ is quite booring. It took me like 10 days to get a ship that could pwn the rats there so my other character could mine in peace. So, in order to go into 0.4 and lower i need to spend like 5 months or more to get skills equal to the pirates there. You cant increase your skills so you can use better weapons and drones and ships by spending more time with the game .. only by being afk and asleep. I dont think its the game for me, thats all :) Im going back to Azeroth where you can play fair (or atleast, if you put your heart into it, you can) =) And.. "dont forget to write"? haha.. xD leet insult

I know the feeling.. There are plenty of social inadequates that get their kicks from spoiling someone elses day out there. But there are ALSO people who will give you hours of their time, helping you and making your time in eve special and fun. Shame you only met one type :-)null

Hehehe... On every forum there are these people who think they are smarter than others =) And, about my items and most important, money, no i will not give it to a stranger, ill give it to my friend who introduced me into the game ;) Argh, i shouldnt start to debate with flamers.. but: In wow there is alot easier to get social relations from what i have seen here. If not only for the way the chatsystem and graphics are built up. I can agree on that Eve is abit harder to learn than wow, but not much. It took me a week to get the basics so i could learn more about modules, trackingspeed and all that. I guess that if you are REALLY smart you can use a shipscanner to see what models of weapons they have and then do a quick calculation to see what ammo to use and what distance to keep .. but that has to be a really quick calculation or you'll be blown away :P So please, flamers, keep up your "ich bin ein _bermenchen" and continue to insult my brain. Its alot of fun to read and i dont ever get insulted by them. Only thing that insults me is being blown away for no reason by someone i absolutely have no chance against. I dont like those who torture smaller animals ;) Btw, i will continue to play until subscription is over, so please come insult me live :) /Doomcaller, 11 days old with a IQ of 120+ (done in a foreign language) :)

Maybe if I train the rest of my advanced learning skills I'll be as smart as everyone else?

Don't make laugh, me and my ceo moved into low-sec when I had been playing for 2 weeks and he had been playing for a month. Surviving in low-sec has very little to do with skills and a lot more to do with situational awareness, you need to be ready for threats as they appear - have your safe spots made, keep an eye on local etc. If you really want to go low-sec go and join a mission running/mining corp thereÆs plenty about, otherwise your probably right that eve not the game for you.

If you want to avoid pirates, dont go to low sec, if you dont want to fly around building your ship back up, dont base yourself at a crap station. All avoidable.

Best way to avoid getting blown up by pirates? Ask the ones here how to do it. I did and i have never been killed by a low sec pirate when i wasn't spoiling for a fight with them anyway. Learning the basic mechanics of how combat works in eve is just the tip of the iceberg, there is so much more for you to learn. The most important thing is that the skills on you char sheet aren't anywhere near as important as the ones in your RL brain. wow is superficial on the social scene because blizzard protects you from harm. nobody can really challange the trust you gave them by killing you and taking away your items. in the end, wow is just another unicorn fantasy world where all you do is brag to others about what l33t stuff you got. sure you can do the same in eve as well, but here you stand to lose some of your bragging material due to stupidity and general lack of foresight. its hard to be l33t in a game that will actually challenge your l33tness

It reflects badly on those who do it. Almost all of the pirates I've fought with or against :) have been great people who know how to play the game and have fun doing it.

Ok... I'll have to admit it is a little to easy for pirates to vaporize newer players in .1-.4ish space. On the other hand, the pirates are pretty easy to spot and avoid in the same space. On an unrelated note; anyone else think it's kind of funny a guy named Doomcaller got owned by pirates and is leaving because of it? Good luck in your next game. I'd suggest a a less pvp-oriented environment.
