good post, will probably improve perceival of the situation for most readers towards pro-ISS.
Prooving (partially non-existing) claims to be wrong also distracts from the actual points that should be discussed.
The main topic in the reffered thread is about ISS management in general dealing out a contract to forward D2 fleetmovement intel to LV. If that would be limited to LV or regionaly limited it might be acceptable somehow, but ISS scouts reporting fleet movement outside of LV space to also other enemies of D2 simply clashes with all the great ideals and ambitions that are postulated in the topicstarterŠs thread.
kind regards, Skeltek

wrote a pretty long article yesterday, but then the server crashed, to make it short:
Shooting on ISS south while having them blue in the north would make me feel stupid. Splitting up ISS would be the same as if any ISS group woulnŠt be neutral anywhere, always taking sides depending on where they currently want to mine/trade.
I do not agree in ISS not needing a Navy.
Of course ISS cannot secure 0.0 space, nobody can; I did not want to start a flamethread about ISS not being able to secure 0.0, while noone else can, I just didnŠt think itŠs right to claim that you provide new players secure 0.0 space to use. All you can hope is provide temporary safety at the chokepoint gates from empire to 0.0.
ISS should stick with their neutrality and stick to the original concept(which is pretty good imho). Splitting up or taking sides regionaly would make the whole neutralityidea senseless.
Reducing ISS to only stationmaintaining and POS upkeeping corps would totaly annihiliate the initial idea of ISS: To provide 0.0 access to corps, not wanting to take sides with any of the major alliances(and still being tolerated by them in "their" space without helping defend the territory they live and earn ISK in).
If you reduce ISS to only a few guys managing the station, there would be nobody else left to profit from the whole thing. The reason why ISS exists IS to provide 0.0 access to corps not wanting to join major alliances. Closing ISS to those corps would be right the opposite of why ISS exists at all.
kind regards, Skeltek
ps: is the outpost ISS or a LV asset? If LV, we could theoreticaly conquer it, if ISS is owner we wouldnŠt. So if we want to conquer the station from LV, we would have to kill ISS POSes without them defending? I think you get my point...
