i've been reading these threads and the only conclusion i can come up with is that the ISS "alliance" (they say they cant/wont control their member corps so its really not an alliance in general eve meaning) never should be considered an entity by other alliances.
it just doesnt make sense to put a big heterogenous group like that to +10 across the board. instead standings should be set on a corp by corp basis (big PITA for any alliance excecutors no doubt). then, ISS corps of the north could enjoy being on positive terms with the northern alliances while the rest of the ISS corps stay neutral.
problems will ofc arise when we go on a little trip to agil. we operate with an NBSI policy and will no doubt come across some ISS corps in the south. shots will be fired, ships will go boom and the poor ISS corps of the south will run crying to ISSN and say big bad IRON pirates blew up my ship. IRON goes back to -10 for ISS and IRON in turn sets ISS to -10.
and wohoo, we're back at the situation we have today.
bottom line is, as someone stated earlier. as long as ISS will let in whatever corps that pay the fee and say that they will follow the charter lots of spies will be let in, this cant be accepted by territorial alliances.

i think you are right Butter Dog, that could be a solution to the problems i adressed in my post above.
but on the other hand i havent touched the LV contract at all.. but it seems LV have tried to bypass the open recruitment problems too regarding that region. only corps that are cleared are allowed to live there.

tbh this would prob not change anything. at least not if the regional ISS alliances continue with the open door recruitment style.. alt- or otherwise spyinfected corps would get in on the collective +10 standing by paying some isk anyway.
(btw.. i notice that some of my and maybe other posts of iron pilots are beign referred to as IRON posting.. this is not the case. any official statements from iron will come from Fotoflame, noone else.)
