Well now, if I told you that it would spoil the surprise, wouldn't it? But in truth, if you look closely, you'll see Dragonstar is not the only corp showing up with multiple racers.

A small update:
I've added a new season pot for alliance rankings/standings. This pot will not accumulate without additional contributions from the public, and like corp standings will automatically add to the scoreboard for the highest finishing racer.
Also, I've altered the scoring rules so that those beyond sixth place will recieve at least one point to encourage racers to complete the races.
Reminder mails will be going out Thursday. I look forward to seeing everyone at the starting position this Saturday!

I adjusted the scale slightly to accommodate the new point system, but I'm not changing the default point for finishing. If a racer wants to stay competitive they'll want to get third at least, and 1 point per race isn't even reasonably competitive in the grand scheme of things. Regardless, I want people to get something for finishing.

yaa they get a gratz from you if they dock on station on arrive 1 hour later ..isnt that enough for a crap 25 place ? :P
What the other racers think about it ? .. mean hell i can live with it..but its a unbalanced system even its just 1 point ... 7-30 all gets 1 point .. wtf :/ well im not the organicer but like i said a half point is more then enough * nods
edit: lock at the formael1 racing or any other racing leagues...if you want to have a good systemfor that much ppl may build one out off indy ,nascar or dtm :
example F1 (22 racers)
10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis
nascar/DTM (depends on racingline) :
Position Points 1st 180 2nd 170 3rd 165 4th 160 5th 155 6th 150 7th 146 8th 142 9th 138 10th 134 11th 130 12th 127 13th 124 14th 121 15th 118 16th 115 17th 112 18th 109 19th 106 20th 103 21st 100 22nd 97 23rd 94 24th 91 25th 88 26th 85 27th 82 28th 79 29th 76 30th 73

Edited by: Kayleigh Jamieson on 17/11/2006 02:36:24 Recent events have dictated the loss of one racer from the Dragonstar Team, as Ms. Loras Forsythe has left for a different corporation. The Racing Team wishes her all the best in her future ventures and will always remember fondly her contributions to our projects.
It was good to have you on board, Loras, and the picture of the very first DS Racing Team will forever hang in our offices. However, my dear, you are now competition. I'll see you on the race track, preferably from rear-view camera drone

Edited by: Sasha Contovis on 18/11/2006 22:25:49 Great race, had lots of fun, congrats to the top racers, all of whom I did not see after the first waypoint. The race was well paced good can placement, I had some trouble with nabbing the bookmarks, but by the end of the race I had it down pat. Other than an aggressive rat giving me a scare at the end of the rally I saw no conflits. Time to go work on those can approaches.
Thanks for a great time Gyra.

Ah the bane of most of us... I could use some work on those myself.
What a fantastic race! I've never seen anything like that waypoint one And I confess I'm at a loss as to what I can write about this race. Wow... Must put pen to holopad and gets my impressions down soon.
Congrats to Owi. He begins the season showing us why he was champion last time around

I had a strong sense of being rather outclassed during this race- Kendar put me completely to shame by stopping off to kill not one but two serpentis cruisers, and still overtaking me by a few places towards the end.
Several important lessons I have learned:
Opening cans with 50 bookmarks each in them takes some time due to lag.The contents of the cans load faster in list view.Being the first to grab a bookmark from a can when 20+ people are trying to do the same is largely a matter of luck. The Vigil is up to 25% faster than the Rifter due to a 5% per level speed bonus not mentioned in its description.Container approach technique: wait until ~30km out and change speed to ~100m/s.Tanking is overrated, and violence overhyped, in a racing environment.WCS are highly unlikely to prove useful. Although I enjoy using good equipment, it is by no means necessary in this sort of event.
Needless to say, the race was tremendous fun, and I'll be there for the next one in a couple of weeks. ---------- An idea for helping people to appreciate ECCM |
