No, I think it is very reasonable to ask for time added back. The EULA talks about maintenance, software deployment and emergency failures. But downtime to add in new hardware which should've been added months (maybe even years) ago? Errr, no I think you could easily agrue that is a breach of service and compensation is well in order. It's not a matter of 50 cents, it's a matter of being fair to your subscribers. Alrght. Then by your logic CCP will start to charge for the expansions. So, be ready to give up those 19.95 that it will cost you to use Kali. Oh wait, you don't have to pay for the expansion/patch... now that IS odd.

Secondly, I'd like to add how it's pathetic to see people complaining that there is a 24 hour downtime due to it. We don't deserve "credit" (a day free) for CCP giving back to the community by adding the much needed hardware. You wanna put voice into the game to create more lag when we already all use vent or TS?! Are you mad!? Before any other bright ideas, might want to fix the game as it is! You have forced us to play the game the way you want the game to be played, POS, SOV, HUGE ALLIANCES and its all still soooo buggy! The LAG is horrible even out in 0.0! 100 people in a system destrys it! The reinforced mode with the POSs is bugged! Its impossible! 3 years + i have played this game, and you are truelly moving backwards with the lag issue. SCRAP the voice idea! its going to be terrible and wont be used. Its just going to sit there and create more lag. Please quadruple node strength in the entire game before doing anything else! and fix the bugged reinforce mode with the POSs. People shouldnt be allowed to add fuel to a POS or charge shields to a POS that is in reinforce mode.

Yea, its called hiring a team of asian programmers that know how to code for high volume? maybe, mmmmm? I am telling you, the node problem isnt the hardware. CCPs hardware is ubber. Its the software.

It costs CCP nothing, gives something to people that want something for not being able to play for a day, and best of all it should cut down on the whining if the DT goes long. The only people who could suffer are those who forget to set a long skill and I don't think there's much pity for them in these parts.

Let's see: World of Warcraft (I bring it up first since you guys hate it so): Gives out free content packs all the time It added in PvP honor system for free, new dungeons for free, new skills, new spells, new items. City of Heroes: All of there major updates are free. And each update (called an issue) has a new area or two, and major features like a repsec trial or PvP zones. GuildWars: Content is additional money, but no monthly fee. They have added in patches and hardware updates for free. The only game that I have played that charges you both ways is EQ2. It charges for each expansion and a monthly fee. Yes that is lame. Yes I know that CoH and WoW are charging for an expansion pack, but they both add far more than a Eve update. Has Eve offered a new race yet? No? Ok then why don't you all be quiet. Add in that normal downtime for Eve means 2-3 days instead of 24 hrs like the Devs say. Have you ever tried to play Eve a few hours before downtime? Lag is unplayable, market won't update, every 3rd time you jump you CTD, server crashes all the time... Please, be nice to your customers and give us a measely day credit. Or will 50 cents per player (what like 40k-50k total accounts) break the bank?

If you're so into it that you can't go a day w/o playing then you really need to reassess whats important. I pay for my month and there are times when I'm not on for 2-3 days. I love the game but life comes first. so does family. I love ccp. The fact that yes they DO care for us gamers and they are not some huge company, and they respond quick. And they don't charge for new content. I think we should be applauding them and supporting them as much as possible. So quit yer whining and suck it up! Life in the Great Unknown is what YOU make it.

I will get over it tho, just bring the thing back up :), so i can set proper training! Ok this is sad, turns out I will loose one more day as the server will get up tomorrow after I am long off to work. Getting annoyed.....having an urge to smash things now!
