Once they are ok I would reckon that the new stuff will be placed on there bit by bit. Remember its TESTING not a playground to get an advantage on setups for new ships. If we test it right then we have a lower number of bugs when it goes fully live on TQ.

As I stated in my last post, Join ISD and bug hunt if you wanna play with the new toys not at all, i'd really love to be able to fly the new ships/access the new regions before they come on tq, mainly to prevent bugged ships comming or tq (guess what, chimera anyone?) and to be able to have an opinion about the whines in ships/modules because nobody really know what they are talking about atm. mods feel free to have random discussions in my sig :P

New ships/systems are just more of the same of what is already in the game, while the other are genuinely new additions to the gameplay. ANY new feature revealed will take something away from 'newness' of the release, so why bother hiding a couple of the minor additions (and yes, I do consider the new ships/systems as minor additions), while revealing all the neat stuff? Having only a few ISD testers test a few of the new (imho, minor) additions is not a good software test as it limits the width of the testing. I was commenting on this, not because I'm interested in the new ships/systems (at most I'm mildly curious...), but more because I'm a software developer in RL, and limiting your testing that way doesn't make any sense seen from that perspective. My views are my own. They do not represent the views of my corporation or alliance.

When Exodus (code named shiva) went in for testing, we coudl test all the new ships, new equipment, new skills, everything. They even gave everyone all the skills needed to fly the new stuff, and to use the pos' (which was new at that time) So your info is off. You test new stuff all the time on the test server.

So your argument is basically that just because they'll be well tested, they shouldn't be tested??? As I told the other guy, from a software testing point of view, that is a hole-in-the-head way of doing it. Everytime you test software, you make it as extensive a test as possible. If a lot of people want to test setups and 1-on-1's, GOOD! Remember that they'll at that time also test all the small improvements that CCP has made to combat (and they will have made changes here and there), which wouldn't be tested if there were no new combat features to try. Tough luck. pay to play the game more, no excuses.
