As part of its restructuring proces ISS have made 400 pilots and 39 corporations redundant. The corporations have been removed from the ingame alliance with immediate effect.
Over the last two weeks, ISS have conducted an internal audit of member activity levels and compliance with the ISS Charter, and based on this audit, the Management have been able to significantly downsize the organisation.
Expect more news as ISS trims the organisation to better meet the business and political challenges of 0.0 space.
Kind regards
ISS Management Chairman, ISS

I hear that after the first wave of compulsory redundancies, the following step will be to outsource their call centre and administration to a Matari npc Corp. :-S

Would you elaborate further on how did you decide which corps stay, and which go? Just curious :) ------------------ Save Tranquility! |

Correct, 39 corps sounds like a lot but only about 10 members per corp makes this a little less impressive. This was the first phase of the culling, where we got rid of the inactive corps that could not manage a simple task like replying to a thread on the ISS forums. Those corps tended to be small.
There's more restructuring on the way. This was just the first phase. Hopefully by the end of it, the alliance will be free of most of the rifraf and we can work on our relationships with our neighbouring alliances.

Hehe.
So far we've accepted a few of the booted corps back in because they were new corps that could not have met the requirements to not be booted (new corps look like inactive corps). We also recruited one under the new recruitment rules. They're only in the test stage at the moment but they're very strict compared to the old "pay some isk and get in the ISS" recruitment policy. The new recruitment policy is designed to ensure every corp that joins the ISS contributes well to the goals of the alliance. We'll release them once they're done and dusted and recruitment is opened again, but that will be after more pilots are removed.
Estimates are that the total removed when we're done will be about 1000, but it could be lower. We'll just have to see how it turns out.

Well first up we have to get everyone in the alliance to wear black hats with a red bobbly bit at the top so they can look like you :D.

Are former alliance members allowed to make requests for corps to get the boot? Maybe just individual members?
