Translation: Drones are bugged to hell and back still, I've got a sore throat from shouting at them so much when they go off to do Random Drone Thingies.
I swear that the drone bugs are account-specific. I have absolutely zero problems with drones. None at all. They do what I tell them, when I tell them to do it.
My brother however has a collection of extremely offensive names that he reserves just for his drones. He regularly gets so annoyed with their behaviour that he kills the drones himself to save the rats the bother.

I know that feeling, right now though only a few of my mining drones still feel the need to wonder off and do what they like, the combat drones are actualy useful now.
It might be a sort of best before date kind of thing. We could get CCP to put a date stamp on them so we can make sure we only bring fresh once and can dispose of the stale once (now that is one hell of a cool ISK sink )

At least they now (usually) return to the bay when ordered.
The thing is that they tend to run off and do their own thing if you are not watching em closely. Its micromanagement or nothing.
And I use drones a lot...A LOT!!

I suppose yelling at your computer might work...But I always found a 250mm II fired at a stubborn drone to work better, one shot and the rest fall right back in line.

Few thingy ma booms about drones:
#1 - They have a "timer" which is used to check certain things. This is about 1 minute
#2 - Checks include: - Is the targeted enemy closest to you? - Is the targeted enemy attacking you? - Is the targeted enemy tracking you?
And the results of these behavior is..
- If it takes more than a minute to fly to the enemy, the drones will turn back and return to orbit you or attack another enemy more close to you.
- If the enemy which your drones are shooting, is not shooting at you, and there is another enemy shooting at you, the drones will skill the current target and attack the shooter instead (yes, your heavies fighting with 10% structure NPC BS at 50km will turn their tails and head towards that pesky annoyance frigate around you, dropping transversal towards the BS to zero and dying in an instant while he regenerated to full health again)
- If someone is tracking you, he is of no importance. It's better to attack something else instead. Team mate could be best bet.
So all in all. The drones are doing exactly what you tell them, if you repeat your orders every minute. (And yes, I do that and they work fine. Every once in a while I forget this, and they go to do their own business instead) --- Sell orders Recruitment

I do other thing for wanting. I wants 'thinking' for no drone for pestilence fortune! Behavior for naughty the drone is choosing of willing pilot, but no drone.
