It's no use shaking your heads in denial at my apparent fallibility, I have. Reverse Psychology. Hands up all you pig farmers..... seriously? there's actually more than one of you? Pigs , like cats... and now that I think about it, children, do not react well to being told what to do. To make a Pig go north you have to try to make it go south. Cats....... well cats are furry balls of red clawed and fanged mayhem when you try to make them go where they don't want to go, so lets forget cats. Children, the little money sucking darlings are more complex, and require a black belt in parental jujitsu, so lets just forget about them as well for the moment. This leaves me with the Pigs. Pigs are intelligent. Pig farmers will tell you its a nightmare trying to keep pigs penned up. They have a knack of working their way through problems such as incarceration with relative ease, however they have yet to cotton on to the fact that when they are being herded north the farmer is hoping they go south. Now working on the principle that EVE players are at least as intelligent as Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pigs, but hopefully with short term memory problems........ For the love of (insert deity or belief system here) Do not Join Catastrophic Operations. Don't do it. Please, I'm your (insert parental guidance unit designation /Manager title here). Just because they have their (insert expletive here) together doesn't mean you have to go join them. It's a trap. You'll hate the space they inhabit, and come on, massive amounts of ISK cant really buy you happiness . They PVP you know? you'll hate that, and as for their Industrial backbone, well, just because its efficient doesn't make it environmentally friendly you know. I've actually heard that Catastrophic Operations leaders are under investigation by Concorde for condoning "drunken shenanigans whilst in charge of a spaceship". You wouldn't want to be part of that would you? of course not. And as for their alliance, well, you'll never get a moment of privacy. There's always someone or groups of someone's on when you are. You'll hate the activity, I mean come on, you can barely walk up the stairs from your (insert parental guidance unit designation) cellar without a portable oxygen bottle. The roams, fleets, operations, solo/group activities would make you reach for your inhaler faster than Stana Katic turning up naked at your door. Listen to me. To say its grossly unfair is an understatement. Try it guys. You'll get the "Oh really?" look, the smug self satisfied grin, the drop of a bra, and boom you lose, even though you scored. On the one hand I have an uncompromising female making demands on my time and on the other hand I have an uncompromising CEO making demands on my time. Christmas; its a stressful time. So here i am in bed listening to the dulcet tones of my other half. When I say dulcet, i mean musical. Musical as in 1812 overture; you know the bit where the cannon is fired?. Its the first free time ive had so far and im spending it reaching out to all you guys and girls in Eve. See how dedicated i am in my quest to improve your time in Eve? Sometimes my magnificence outshines my ability to describe it. Not often, but it does happen. The guys and girls in Catastrophic Operations are my second family. Women can judge friendship to the nearest penny when it comes to gifts and cards, whilst we socially challenged XY chromosomal biological units find it infinitely harder to do. Oh yes Catastrophic Operations. Two words that if truth be told should never appear in the same sentence, never mind next to each other. I mean Gallipoli was a Catastrophic Operation, especially for the thousands of commonwealth soldiers who died on the beaches there. History is ripe with examples of Catastrophic Operations. The thing that stands out in all of those examples is the bravery, the camaraderie and the sheer determination of those involved on both sides of the divide. Much like my corporation, Catastrophic Operations. We go in to fleet battles knowing that we are going to get mullered, and we do everything we can to ensure that we survive. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, sometimes we have no clue who won or lost , but that's the way of some of the alliance battles we have fought in. We make big plans, BIG plans, and the whole corp pitches in. Often, the name Catastrophic Operations refers to the damage inflicted upon our enemies as we rampage through their systems, stealing their horses and womenfolk (aka "stuff") but honesty compels me to admit that Catastrophic Operations could also apply to some of our more hare-brained schemes that literally have fallen in tatters around our feet. It happens. We get up, dust ourselves off (kneecap the FC or CEO but that's another story) and get on with enjoying the game. Can you say the same? I play games to spend my time in some decent(for me), interesting(also for me)way and to have some fun. I have played several other MMO-s, I had luck in them to find people to play with, but people left, game was still there but it wasn't same game anymore. I switched MMo few times, sometimes i had luck to find team to play with, sometimes luck was not there. In EvE I started alone. I have met few nice people, just a few at that time, i started to play for myself, changed corp only few times. Some time after - I Joined Cat0p. For me it was 180 turnaround in game experience as i was mostly care-bear. Corp and ally fleets, events, killing, exploding, exploding and killing again(also ratting and mining, exploring, indy) - just what i only could imagine - it was there. I found people to play and have fun with at the same time. I don't plan to leave anytime soon. If you feel like and wish to have fun with multi nationality folks(US, EU TZ) - why not join us in channel "cat0p public"? It doesn't cost anything and you might find just the team to play with. o/ Dakota.

It's an expression used in much the same way as hard the frakk up, without the negative connotations inherent therein. Stop with the emo rage quit **** and put your big girl panties on" Too many times my poor ears have been regaled with stories of derring do and crazy stuff that would have succeeded if hadn't been for those pesky kids daphne!! Big Girl Panty Time. Stop blaming everyone else for your actions and mistakes, and MAN or WOMAN up. You are NOT the centre of EVE. In a strange quirk of fate it turns out that I am, but I'm magnificent enough to handle it without becoming a swollen headed knobjockey. Where am I going with this? Well to answer those of you at the back scratching their heads, and clearly in need of a medicated shampoo containing selenium, I shall explain. Catastrophic Operations is built on the premise of Big Girl Panties. Whine about how unfair something is, or how the enemy are lame because they pulled a Crazy Ivan on your fleet and mullered everyone, and you will find our sympathy meter firmly fixed on zero. If you can take the hard knocks dished out by an uncaring universe with equanimity, then you my young Jedi Apprentice are just the pilot we are looking for in Catastrophic Operations.
