Edited by: RobW1 on 11/11/2006 10:35:59 I'm sorry but saying that our access to SiSi is a GIFT upsets me a little.
If we, regular players, didn't have access (not that we've had a VAST amount in the last 3 weeks anyway) then testing for this new release would take HOW MUCH LONGER? Alot for sure. Ask any company that uses "customer" testing to test out it's products... it's a hell of a lot quicker, and a hell of a lot more useful than just in-house testing.
So it's fine that the PvP tournament uses SiS, but it would have been nice to have been told, or for it to be put on the MOTD. It's another example of lack of communication from CCP, IMHO.

Could CCP perhaps put something in the KALI forum with regards to when the test server will be back available to us?
I don't look in the Events forum, so I had no chance of spotting LeMonde's post (plus we've been told to keep Kali discussion in the KALI sub-forum, and to me that implies stuff relating to SiSi too).
Maybe CCP should take SiSi away from us completely, that way many of us won't be torn between two worlds..
In one world we just say "Screw it, SiSi isn't reliably available to us, so why bother trying to help test".
In the other world we think that if we help test even just a little bit, that we might be able to help CCP out, and make Kali GREAT.

Umm... not sure why people are upset? Jiekon is right. The test server isnt included in the subscription. You cant make any demands for it to be up, or accounts to be activated etc. If you dont want to help ccp test stuff, there are plenty of other people who will... im not sure what the problem is here?
If its about the "god given right"-comment, was it really that bad? People are very sensitive here....
I don't think anyone here has said that it *is* included in our subscription. That being said it would be too hard for some actual information about SiSi unavailability to posted in the Kali forum would it?
The problem here is lack of information. There are others, but that's the main one that gets in my mind.

Originally by: Gouglash Jiekon isn't being condescending, he's just telling you how it is.
If you can't handle the fact that SiSi is not included in your subscription, that's your problem, not a fault in Jiekon's matter-of-fact attitude here.
SiSi is apparently up enough for hundreds or thousands of bug reports to be filed. Maybe you just aren't as important as you think you are.
Again, no one has mentioned subscription.
You don't know how many bug reports have been filed, as you're not CCP. Granted there have been many pages in the thread at the top of this sub-forum, and granted there are probably more. There could also potentially be a lot more if people received communication around SiSi, by that I mean :
* Availability (or lack of it) * Focus area * believed-to-be-fixed areas (there have been two or three patches since the initial build of Kali on the server, but nowhere has there been information on what has been fixed, if we knew that we could retest if required, or ignore areas if they are being focused on).
I agree Jiekon wasn't been condescending, but I can also see how many people may take his comments "the wrong way".

No
How about some information on the MOTD about it's use for Fanfest?
How about some sort of thread indicating what is fixed, or believed-to-be-fixed issues?
How about some sort of thread indicating focus areas?

Originally by: GTSI Rude, Abrupt..... sounds to me a lot like most of the eve players to me! So the test server goes down for a few days, you pay for access to tranquility not sisi. Who cares if you cannot get to try out your new BS for a few days. BTW if you take a few minutes to look through a few threads in these forums you will see that the devs and the whole of ccp have taken a huge amount of abuse, rudeness and profanity in the past few weeks and i cant say i blame them for coming close to the mark themselves. They are trying to get out a major expansion to what must be a major network and to cap it all they have to listen to all the bloody whiners and crybabys "waahhhhh... i cant get on to test the drake....waahhhhh" FFS Grow up and let them do their job.
A few thoughts -
1. Meeting rudeness with rudeness doesn't solve anything.
2. Who said anything about testing the drake?
3. Getting an expansion is going to be alot easier with several hundred unpaid testers, all they need/require/desire is a BIT of communication on the test servers availability. Some feedback on issues/bugs raised. Some amount of information on what has been changed (focus areas).
I see SiSi is back up ... but with a Dragon patch.

He already answered the point of the thread, perhaps they don't feel like giving further answers because people are being jerks about it?
and SiSi is accepting connections now. So this really should be closed.
Dragon branch though.

I mean that right now SiSi doesn't have Kali/Revelations on it.
The MOTD says -
We're public testing a small Dragon patch before we deploy it to Tranquility. Revelations will be back Tuesday nigh
In other words CCP are testing a patch that is going to go on to TQ.
