Two things...
Firstly, an observation: *NEVER* muck around the people who can A) Meddle with your food and B) Meddle with it, out of eyesight.
That's a rule for life; right up there with "Never eat yellow snow" ...
Secondly, I find the downright sexist tone in here extremely offensive, carry on and risk your posting privileges.

August '06. Scenery on Boracay, a Philippine isle, at the beach I had ordered a portion of Pommes frites (french fries for the non-continental). I received the warm package of alu-foil. Eager and with a hungry stomach overtoning the sea, I sat down at the beach and opened the pack. What emerged was some kind of mud, mayonaise smashed into the fries who had bathed in butter without any salt. As this was an insult to good cuisine, Pommes Frites and my hunger, I walked up in anger back to the beach restaurant not listening to my girlfriends brother who is a local, smashed the fries on the bartable and demanded my money back. The Philippinos serving were afraid because of my good and direct german customs and immediatly gave me back my money, humbly apologising multiple times.
If someone tries to rip you off, think about my story next time and do the same. _______________________________________________________________________ Trey Azagthoth > Youre my idol Jocool. I wanna be like Jocool jr. or Jocool the sequel! Oveur > ohnoes jocool |

1 & 2.
Everyone makes mistakes so no bother. Obvoiusly it'd be different if they were a large franchise and could afford the loss, it should be their policy to ask you to pay for what you actually ordered. So you want to pvp and join a friendly corporation? |

If I were you, I would get a life. It's obvious to me that she's not going to be a waitress forever (not a likely long term career) so aside from being nice enough to ask you to choose, she could probably give a **** whether you pay 5 or 10 dollars. Additionally, with prices like that, unless she's really hot looking, I bet her tips are marginal. One more reason not to give a ****.
Next time, go to McDonalds, since you obviously have a problem with spending small amounts of money.
If you had been in Morton's, and they billed you for the wrong steak, I could see being a tad upset - but the prices are different, and the wait staff makes a decent amount on the tips.

Oh, puhleeaze... There's plenty of people for whom a job as a waiter (or similar) is what they want - one of the reasons could be not so much stress as, say, being the head of an IT department brings. Or do you think she should become a stripper?
When I was a student and didn't quite bother to cook, I would often eat at a small nearby restaurant. Food was cheap but good (we're talking the equivalent of 6-7$ today), and one of the waitresses was really hot. She preffered to work there even though she had done two years of university (don't remember the program), because it didn't demand much responsibility, and she planned to do this for a long time.
And cheap restaurant or not, people tipped her well, and she made more than I did in my first and second year of work added. Stories. |

Oh please. I see the long lines of people leaving the university now, hoping against hope that they can land a top flight job as a waitress...

At what dollar amount is it ok to be ripped off? When do you cut off your toleration for losing cash. If a mugger came up and demanded 6 dollars from you, would you pay the man and merrily go on your way, forgetting the whole incident, or would you report it to the police? If a rental car agency told you that they were out of cheap cars but had a very expensive model left over, and asked that you pay twice the rate you were expecting to pay in order to rent the car, would you feel ripped off, or simply accept it and go? And since when is a persons pride in doing their job right and well based upon how many tips they make?
For the record, I did not tip at all when I was overcharged. Had she handled the situation differently, she would have gotten at least a 20% tip.

A waitress who asks you whether or not you want to wait for the personal pizza or take the small pizza (which is larger and more expensive) isn't exactly engaging in armed robbery or begging. So the comparison is invalid.
My expectations of service vary depending on the amount of money I'm spending. If I'm spending 100 dollars to eat somewhere, and the tip is 25 dollars on top of that, I expect quite a bit.
If I'm eating something that cost 5 dollars (or even 10), I hope the food is clean, cooked (to the point where is is ostensibly germ-free), and arrives sometime today. And I really feel sorry for the people who work there.

I didn't realize you were the type of person who looks down upon those 95% of people that earn a living working entry level jobs. How horrible it must be to earn minimum wage, what a horrible waste of humanity that is. Those poor terrible people who actually work for their keep, it is so sad. Yea, its such a shame that a human being has to make a six figure income or at least live above the poverty line and be a middle class citizen to feel like their life is worth living. To be worthwhile instead of being among the dregs of society. Such a shame. Yea, I'm with you man, I feel sorry for those poor saps too....................

You'll notice that I don't look down on them. I feel sorry for them, because people like you hold them over a fire when you don't get exactly what you ordered.
I feel even more sorry for cute waitresses, as the primary thought running through a lot of guys' minds is how they plan to impress her with their big tip (no pun intended).
If someone is getting paid a lot of money to do something, I feel it's fine to hold them to a high standard.
If they're getting paid very little, and the goods are cheap, then I find no room to complain.
After all, she gave you a choice in advance. Which is more than some places give you - where the only choice is whether or not to walk in the door.

Now you offend even more people. Do you really class most men as being misogynistic and bigoted in this regard? I certainly have had no sexual thoughts about her, certainly no fantasies. My only fantasy is to get perfect service that earns them a fat tip in cold hard cash. Not some coy inuendo that you seem to be suggesting.

AAAAAARGH I forgot to finish my post in the first place and that was why I had responded to you, Agent Li, not to tell you that, surprise! the world has low classes as well. I don't know where the hell you live but I'm 100% sure you have a surprisingly (surprising for you, anyway) big low class.
People don't pay ransoms in this game for the sheer principle of it, VERY low ransoms and reasonable, even when paying that ransom will cost them less than dying. In this game you lose a LOT less than you do in real life. You overestimate people's principles and what they are willing to do for them.
I've seen people haggling for a coffee (!) - we're talking about 1 dollar here - out of principle. I don't blame them, even though I might not do the same. Stories. |

I was merely stating it as a fact, along with all of the other facts. It had nothing to do with sex, sexual overtones, flirting, or inuendo. It was simply a fact like the sky is blue, the sun is hot, this thread is derailed, etc.

I believe in that wholeheartedly. That's why I have handled this situation so delicately and treated them with the utmost of respect. I changed the letter when I realized that it gave the wrong impression, did I not?
