The dollar price is the same, so no, CCP has not increased the price.
1. Dollar has gone up against the Euro. 2. You are paying someone in Euro. 3. That someone is paying CCP in dollars.
Simple global economy 123 answer; if you're buying something with dollars and the value of the dollar goes up, you have to adjust the price in your local currency to keep the same margin. |

In other news.. Beer is now also more expensive than a year ago. Just the other day i went to see mad max (great movie btw) and the price had gone up *again* in the last year. Why someone was complaining that his rent is no longer 30 shillings a month. And where is the broken glass and snow that we all had to walk in with bare feet to school?
Yea prices go up. Exchange rates change. The world turns. Deal with it.
oh and i earn about 2.5 to 3 plex an hour with my current salary.

Aside from maybe the SKIN system, none of those actually increase the demand buying PLEX, and even then, it would assume that people are buying in bulk to get skins for themselves rather than just buying AUR from CCP. Everything else happens in-game and is far too dampened out by the in-game economy to really have any useful effect on the retail prices. Also, even in such a case, it would actually make more sense for the retailers to reduce their prices by offering bulk sale packages to beat CCP's prices (cf. the deals that show up on Amazon every now and then).
A spot increase like the one the OP is talking about really only makes sense for the reason already listed: an exchange rate change (and at the prices quoted, the retailer buying in dollar somehow seems quite likely), a general wish to increase margins, or the retailer trying to retain margins when faced with new taxes and fees.

In the first case, because there's little else that would create those kinds of daily fluctuations.
In the second case, because I'm fairly certain that reselling retailed PLEX is strictly out of bounds.
