After hearing the horrific news coming out of the Bleak Lands, I think that it's clear who the culprits are.
As I believe I have previously said, I will hold Karin Midular and the corrupt leadership of the Republic personally responsible for any criminal activities carried out by Republic Fleet personnel within the borders of the Empire.
Furthermore, PIE Inc. forces have been placed on full alert following the cowardly attacks on civilian targets carried out by followers of Muritor and his self-styled Defiants.
We stand waiting for instructions from Chancellor Karsoth, the Privy Council or the Imperial Navy, and will do our duty to defend the Empire.

A pity. Does this mean your 'live fire exercises' in Mito are over? I sure hope not... I haven't seen much of you guys yet.
I find it amusing that while PIE was busy playing around in the State, the very empire that they were sworn to protect was attacked.

As you would be the first to point out, we haven't moved our bases into Mito for the duration of our exercises. Rather, we've been based out of our regular bases in Domain.
As such, our recent exercises have been in addition to our normal patrols, not in place of them.

I am certain once the Empire releases all remaining slaves, and repents for their sins against mankind then these attacks will stop.
Perhaps you should consider that.

I guess that the good Captain (or is he an Admiral now?) Muritor has finally decided to come out and play. I had wondered where The Defiants would turn up, and they didn't surprise me.
Good luck waiting for orders, Rodj. It's just too bad for you that your kind is so bad at seizing the initiative. _

I'm no fan of PIE but atleast they don't scurry away and surrender the second a war is declared against them.

I do not usually answer to Amarrians in this kind of matters, but I'll make the exception here.
If the person behind this is the traitor Muritor, as I am sure everyone with half a brain suspects, he is not Republic Fleet personnel. I have it from a very reliable source that the Fleet would very much like him back, and are in no way co-operating with his terrorist acts and efforts to encite a war.
It is sad to see how the Amarr use this as an excuse for hostilities with the Republic authorities. It is an outrage that former loyal soldiers of the Republic are giving the Amarr their excuses, but hardly surprising that they take it; anyone with half a brain also knows they must have been looking for an excuse to launch an invasion since the start of the Rebellion.
One can only hope the other nations in space do not fall for such nonsense as demostrated by pilot Blake of PIE Inc above. In any case: Amarr, do not seek to start a war. Next time, the Rebellion will be finished.

Seems to me as if the Empire is abandoning it's people on the fringes in order to wallow in political games in the throne worlds. Even the independent holders are criticising the Navy's disinterest in their safety.
To be expected I guess. Jostling for power and position whilst all this heir selection or whatever goes on. Who cares about a few regions here and there?

It may well be that they're not co-operating with Muritor (and I doubt that this is the case, considering that you have the likes of Shakor in your government), but have they been actively hunting him?

The lady speaks the truth. This is not the work of the Republic. They are politicians chained like slaves to a treaty. This is the work of free men.
I know full well what warmongers the Amarr are but I would have thought them smarter than to try and pick a fight with more innocents. Especially considering they cannot handle the enemies they already have.

I feel the need to point out something.
Do not rule out the possiblity that this is NOT actions by the defiants. As everyone knows, such actions would be attributed towards them, as they are indeed the most likely candidate.
However, One thing does not add up. I have met with and spoken to Karishal, back when he was serving under the republic, I do not think that he would not claim responsibilities for these actions. He is bold, and sick of secrets. He also knows that he would be blamed for such actions, so why wouldnt he step up to them?
However, if forces intent on causing war between the republic and amarr wished for a good excuse to act, this is perfect. Do some terrorist acts, watch the amarrians blame the republic, who blame the rogue defiants, and watch as all the factions start tearing each other to pieces. For all I know, this is an amarrian plot to create an excuse to launch a new invasion.
I am not claiming either way that it was or was not Karishal Muritor - I just want people to consider "what if" it isnt.
On a side note, Namtz'aar K'in have had no contact from the Defiants since the creation of their corporation.

Edited by: Auele on 17/11/2006 01:08:33 Blaming the Republic for this attack is not smart at all. The Republic does not want to make martyrs out of the Amarrians, and believe me, we are not that generous to the likes of them.
Note that the Amarr Empire is suffering from internal turmoil, and the possibility that they want to channel those fiery energies outward instead of inward is likely. It is not new that they would pull something like this. Their manipulative and conniving character says it all. I guess you all know the history behind that.

Don't be stupid and jump to conclusions. The Bleak lands is also located near where the Angles operate and they use mimatar weapons. It could also be some random pirate group stering up trouble, Remember Minmatar ships + weapons are aviable on the open market same as Ammarian, Caldari, and Galente stuff, or Ammarian Ciztizens rising up against the corrupt empire.
Also if they Ammarian goverment actly cared about The Bleak Lands they would have had their navy depolyed there in the first place.
Also what did they do to stop Sansha's and Blood Raiders from operating in the Area?? Nothing.
Then again, the Religous never listen to Logic or Reason do they.

Admittdly I cannot really decide who I would rather emerge victorious in these engagements. I dislike trators immensely and that man betrayed the republic although weather the republic should have existed in the first place is another matter entirely.
In thruth it does not matter much to me, as long as im left alone fine but if the fight comes our way ill bleed every last enemy dry.
If you do however manage to blow up one of the good captians capial ships please make a video I want to see that ship BURN and see the crew explode in the face of the vaccum of space. BURN THEM ALL. I dont care who dies i just want blood!

Tonight, combat squadrons from the Imperial Navy, PIE Inc., the CVA, VV, Manu Dei and OQ were involved in running battles with insurgent forces throughout the Bleak Lands.
These forces were intent on destroying merchant vessels but were beaten off. Early reports suggest that not one civilian target was destroyed.
I can confirm that the terrorists all belonged to The Defiants.

You can confirm? And the audience here is just supposed to take your word for it?
Not that I doubt the possibility, but with your wish to interpret the attacks as former Fleet doings and to use that as excuse for hostilities with the Republic, you will excuse me if I do not consider you the most reliable source ever.
If the Defiants indeed are behind this, why are they not claiming responsibility? Traitor or not, secrecy and deception are not Muritor's way, or the way of any of those fighters I can think would be flying with him.
