Carnyx has been successfully deployed on June 2 during an extended downtime.
Carnyx brings many new features to EVE Online, including fully revamped icons in space and in the overview, the first set of sovereignty changes, fantastic new graphic shaders, module rebalances, the Caldari Tech-3 destroyer "Jackdaw" and more.
You can check out details of all these features on the new Updates webpage, here. The full details of all changes and improvements are available in the patch notes.
For issues with the release on PC, please post here.

This is only relevant to those players who are not using the EVE Launcher to log into EVE Online.
Players who log into EVE Online by using directly the exefile.exe instead of the EVE Launcher should please consider that manually updating exefile.exe with the repair tool might fail in some cases after the Carnyx release. Please read the above linked news article for further information and check out the workaround.

I cannot get to the character selection screen. After logging in using the launcher I just get a black screen and the Resource Loading circle spinning in the bottom left. I tried redownloading the launcher from the links you provided, just in case, and it made no difference |

I am not sure what is going on, but there is a major issue I am having since logging in these evening (tried relogging alread). and that is that when moving the camera in space I am periodically getting white strobe effects that I am struggling to catch, but seems as though the entire screen is flashing pure white. It is so similar to strobe effect, that if I were susceptible to seizures it would be quite dangerous and more frequent than not.

In addition, this persists when I switch to optimize for performance, but less often. Also, even when selecting optimize for performance, my fps has tanked and is struggling to display smoothly similar to previously having three clients open with all set to optimize for quality. The end result, between the strobes and the quality loss from downgrading the settings to avoid the strobe + the worse quality now than prior to patch means it feels like I am suddenly playing EVE on a 10 year old piece of crap.... Something is very wrong with these graphics updates. |

We saw that to and are working on a fix as we speak. In the meantime you can click the logo in the top left to reset the store view to show everything.

I got called away for work and after 25 minutes it had loaded in, must have just been communication troubles. |

Minor bug (I think), if I hover the mouse pointer over the icon for a Cosmic Anomaly while in space I get a pop up bar with details of the anomaly but the final topmost GÇÿsquareGÇÖ is just solid grey with nothing there. Should it have some sort of icon or something?

I get this regularly with Eve on loading and resolve it by connecting through a faster server if available. But this graphics lag is worrying in that the new graphics seem to be even more resource hungry and may well induce more system lock-ups. We shall see. |

Try running the game via the bin/exefile.exe directly. It's working for some.

What is the real launcher version? My launcher did a strange update, now report version 884420, but when I start it I get running a pre-release version pop up. Is that right? I click yes, and it looks like that update the cliente, report cliente ready and now refuse to work...

Windows 7 x64 - Modern fast computer. 16G of ram, SSD, etc.
Unable to get any launcher to work. Stays stuck at "Creating patch 0.0%" Tried several times, reboot, clearing cache in eve launcher, no change.
Tried repair tool INSIDE the eve launcher, No change.
Removed launcher folder, installed this: https://ccpcommunity.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/203183482
Same problem. Stuck at "Creating patch 0.0%" I also now get the new error "you are running a pre-release version" I am running 2.2.884420
Side note, i have about 6 accounts and the launcher has never worked in the last year at my work due to corporate firewal. Skipping to the exe has always worked fine. So it kinda sucks i will be playing less now.

How long did it take your client to start? I am having a similar experience and I've been waiting 40+ minutes. Resource Monitor says it's using 12% CPU time but doesn't show any disk or net activity for exefile.exe |

I find the problem with my launcher.. I did what your linked article tell to me to do. I delete de folder, download and reinstalled the launcher 884420.. But it looks like that the linked laucher are the pre-release one.. not the oficial! WTF?
So, again, what is the right launcher? where did I find it?

Not much of a bug, just something odd to report.
Downloading the update via the launcher is making my pc fans run loud. Odd part is when i right click on the launcher, like on the pic of the hulk and bring up the right click menu, the fans get quiet again a second or two later. When i right click downloading seems to stop altogether, but maybe the launcher just doesnt update the numbers.
The right clicking doesnt work 100% of the time, but it seems to work maybe 1 and 4 tries, and as soon as i get rid of the right click menu, the fans get loud again.

iam not sure what excatly happend, but it seems like the new patch doesnt like shared ressources.
first i had the same issue as that first guy (and others) in this thread. client didnt start. it was like froozen. after i tested some things iwent afk for food gathering and when i came back the client was in char selection. i launcheda second client and it loaded instantly. i selected my char and everything was black for like 5 minutes except the ui.
after a while stuff stzarted apearing. thesame after undocking. everything black until it started loading. then i found that "loadingressources icon" which was loading stuff.
seems like the game is now downloading textures and other crap i allready have. and i havea damn slow internet connecting, that will take days ~
edit: ok on my other computer i have selected download everything and the launcher is now downloading 2gb stuff. that makes sense with the graphic changes in this patch. but doesnt explain why everything is black the first time.
edit2: ok the size of data it wants to download rises during the download. will probably all of the 20gb(?) of shared assets at the end
edit3:
i docked in hophip in one of the amarr stations. (which was black the first time i loged in). then i moved to fountain to the yz- guardian angels station which looks inside exactly like the hophib station. my alt wassitting in thisstation for an hour so every texture should be loaded. but once i loged in to thisstation with my main char everything was black and it had to download everythign again.
is there maybe a way to turn off the entire graphic engine so i can play just with brackets and overview? this permanent downloading blocks my entire internet connection ~

The client doesn't start.
The launcher allows me to login but the exefile process just uses 100% of a cpu core. No disk or network activity. cleared cache, tried safe start, try launching the exe file directly, tried the repair tool and I get this error log:

According to my test this only applies to empty pods, also applies to empty MTUs, I would presume this is the reason why there were earlier reports of POS killmails not being generated. |

Launcher number 6 seems to be missing on the Cerberus model. As far as I can see, only 5 of 6 launchers are visible on the ship model when 6 launchers are fitted (i.e. all 6 Highs are fitted with launchers). |

There is a glitch in the Cerberus Graphics when warping. The launcher at the back at the lower side of the ship are are leaving a copy of the launcher in non-warpmode when the launcher is pulled up when the ship is entering Warp. This issue has been observed with heavy assault launchers. |

the icons are very hard to read at 90% UI scaling. Frigates look like lines, destroyers look like a double line, can't tell the difference between cruisers and bcs. Freighters are the big squigglys. http://i.imgur.com/zekv0E7.png
sure when they are cut out, still, and I put my face a few inches from the monitor I can read them, but playing the game at about an arms length in a normal position it is just bleh.

also I feel like a few icons didn't need changing, but meh.

In my understanding that is the issue: The new space-invaders style overview sprites are horrible. My screen is only 1366x768 so I have to use 90% UI scale and with this settings they look awful May I, please, wonder how in the Universe no single developer had wondered to try 90% UI scale BEFORE official patch release? Or maybe you are happy with this complete mess?
Is it possible to roll back to pre-Carnyx overview brackets and icons, please?

I uninstalled 2 eve installs and my SISI. Went to reinstall by doing a fresh download. Clicked the download, ran the installer and within 2 minutes had a new launcher, its now sat with no data behind it telling me the client is ready to launch |

On all 3 accounts;
Launcher seemed to download all files, even though they became bigger and bigger. When done, logged in fine.
In station, wanted to search some stuff on the market but it kept on 'fetching orders'. Tried my second account (on different client) and it stayed the same. I figured maybe undocking would fix this, but instead I got a black screen, only my GUI, chat channels and Neocom were showing for minutes, when I finally figured it's not really a safe bet to stay undocked in null sec without being able to control anything.
So logged off, ran repair.exe, but of course that doesn't work for whatever reason.
Noticed on forum to run rescache, on one client it stated there were about 4k corrupt files, 400 missing.
In the mean while, the second client decided to change the address of rescache, so I launched it to change it back to the first client's, but it started to download missing files immediately, freezing over when trying to change the path etc.
So all in all, deleting cache left and right, changing address paths, running rescache a million times, I'm finally playing.

One of the issues that's ongoing with the Launcher for some, the Grey Button/Bar of EverWait. For some (not all alas!) changing the language on the Launcher then back to the one you use can kickstart the Launcher into working, downloading, and giving a Yellow Button of Play Game.

Nothing I can do to fix the issue, but I've seen a similar problem with fonts when running an LCD monitor at a resolution that was different from the default resolution that the LCD had. It happens because the LCD uses a crappy algorithm to stretch the image so it appears to be full screen.
Basically, the issue is caused by whatever CCP uses to re-size your UI to 90%, it's crappy on fonts. Try other percentages, see if the non-horizontal icon lines become crisp again.
Likely you'll have to run at 100%.

Killmails were already broken before the patch. The night before the patch, I clearly got the first tackle on a pod - log said so, my point was on it almost a full cycle ... not on the killmail: me. |

I'm getting an issue where textures on stations and gates load in as full black, like an un-textured model, then slowly adds each layer back, but after passing by a few gates it eventually stops rendering them entirely as well as any module effects such as cloaking, sensor booster glow, shield hardeners, armor hardeners, and ECCM to name a few.
I know its rendering each layer one by one too because its going in the same order the medium definition textures can be applied in triexporter. starting with layer one all the way through to layer 5 on some. Other times it just wont load them at all and the gate becomes a grey and black blob in space.
Never had this issue before, but aside from that the patch seems to be working fine.
Theory-Crafter, Free Agent, Immortal Space Pirate. Generally Crazy and difficult to understand at times.

the fonts are fine, just the new icons that are bleh. I'd rather just run at 90% and ignore the icons, as at 100% everything else just looks weird. Start seeing pixels in the icons and stuff 
just tried 110% and 125% and icons looked weird there too.
on my tablet, it looks messed up too (for everything not at 100%). 1920x1080 screen at 11ish inches, vs 23 inches on my desktop monitors.

Well, either my laptop broke while patching or the patching process somehow effected my internet connection. Yesterday I decided to start to patch the game and after maybe 300mb, steam's eve launcher wasn't downloading anything anymore and opening webpages got slower or timed out completely. First impression was that ISP was trolling me, but it wasn't the case because my other computer's internet worked just fine. Well, I had to end the launcher at task manager, which didn't help with internet problems (even after restarting). Webpages were still loading slow or not at all. Launcher stopped downloading a lot earlier (like after 10-40 mb). Then I thought maybe it's the router or cable and tested the cable from my other computer, but it was still the same. Then I tested wifi and noticed it was atcually working as it should. I thought that my ethernet port must have broken. Everything was fine untill the launcher stopped downloading after 800mb and froze again. After that, I decided that maybe tomorrow is a better day. Woke up, started laptop, ran internet speedtest with cable plugged in, got 100mbps which is the figure I should get. Started launcher, downloading got stuck, internet got slow, restarted comp, internet was slow, here I am writing this, tested speedtest again because internet felt a bit faster, got 100mbps, starting up steam now, I'll post this now while I still can. I'll get back to you after I've run the launcher. |

Turrets appear linked but actually are not. Was testing a Merlin with a SSE and blew up 5 of them. Was disappointed with the DPS despite double mag stabs. Then I noticed in the KM's some turrets were dropping full ammo stacks. I bought a 6th Merlin to test on an NPC. Sure enough with all turrets linked only one turret expended ammo.

Logging in with exe is a bit broken. I usually shift-tab/tab to change text fields and select a character with the keyboard. Hitting enter to select a character from the pull down menu no longer works - you have to click on the name to select it. Irritating.

If you jump into a WH with a destination set, the destination stays up with whatever the last system was on your overview.
On the plus side you can see that route in New Eden, in the stars, from the WH.
And then just to the left of that little 30 jump route that you can see there's 2 other stars with a shimmering line going between them? Other guys could see it on their client also so it wasn't just me. |

For what it is worth I have to say mostly change is good but with the overview it is not, I understand that ccp may want to introduce some mini games into certain aspects of eve but to have to play pacman in space on my overview is not the way!
The overview icons are a bad move and should either be changed back or allow us the freedom to choose which icon set we want to use.
Why change something that works very well for pacman in space?

The inventory in the Customs Office as well as the inventory on the Occator's Fleet hold does not reflect transfers to and from every customs office.
If you do a jump out of the system the inventory will update and you can return to the system for updated inventories.

As far as I can tell this is a quite old known issue for the case, when moving items from a customs office to a fleet hangar without having any corporation roles to see the first corp hangar (or quite similar). As work around it should help to be in a fleet.

So I log in using the launcher just fine, but when I get the actual client window, it authenticates and loads bulk data, then nothing but black with a little circle in the bottom left saying Resource Loading. It worked fine for me yesterday and I have changed zero settings. I tried the repair tool, but it crashed. I tried launching the .exe manually, logged in the client there and pressed Connect. Nothing happens, so I hit connect again and get a box saying "Local Session Corrupt"

Bashfulmerc As far as I can tell this is a quite old known issue for the case, when moving items from a customs office to a fleet hangar without having any corporation roles to see the first corp hangar (or quite similar). As work around it should help to be in a fleet.

Burner missions in nullsec agents still spawn like crazy.
I guess there are to many of them when compared to the old missions type , and they pay so much LP that in nullsec you have 50% chance that your next mission will be a burner one (even when you completed one few seconds ago).

Bugs.
Notifications, Insurance Expired still does not do anything on the Notification Tab until I manually check while docked. Only then does that little button chime and show a pop-up. This is now a pre-Mosaic and further back glitch that is not fixed. Have not tested if the Contract up Notification is also still broken.
Background graphics. At times, usually when changing camera angle via mouse swipe, there's a 'strobe' effect of solid bright white. Not solid half screen white-out that sometimes happens, it's flashes. Hoping no one with a seizure disorder is effected before this is repaired. Have not confirmed if it's related to a specific DX number yet.
The new image for the Damage Control Module from Mosaic is still off true in it's spot in the UI when undocked. Not centered, it's up and to the left rather than dead center.

Two more bugs today.
One. This is an old one still lingering. During a combat set in a mission location, the right side of the screen will flash to solid white for all background graphics. Fiddling with angle, zoom, etc. sometimes makes it go away, other times it's just wait it out for it to go away. Very hard to see anything on that side when it happens.
Two. Once warp is initiated, occasionally the rear end of the ship will, for lack of a better description, fishtail or slalom like it 'lost traction'. Easier to see with ships that are length not height or width, example being a Vagabond over a Myrm to see the effect. This does not happen during warp initiation, it's further along the flight where it seems the ship loses 'grip' on space. Surreal to say the least. I didn't know ships in Eve were rear wheel drive and warp space sometimes has black ice on it's route. It's not evry warp, just often enuf that I'm now noticing it happen.

I've noticed a problem with the Planetary Interaction system. It seems that now we can resize the various screens in PI. That's a good change. However, when you click on a Extraction Control Unit, and then select the 'Products' icon, to see how much of the product you're going to produce, and it's routing, ... The Amount column is not resizable, and the default size only displays 4 digits, the rest are truncated off.
So, for example, I have a plasma planet that produces 32k in product during it's 3.5 day cycle, it will only show me that it is producing 3500.

Thank you for the update icons (I like the new Orca icon). But, it is not complete and I think the following points must be improved.
Wreck Icons : Problem : After one week with the new icon system, it's always hard to find wreck icon in the overview list. Solution : - Icon Wreck with loot : Fill in white the inside of the icon, including the triangle and the lilttle lozenge (diamond). - Icon Wreck with no loot : Add to the existing outline icon, the lozenge outline and draw only the perimeter. This will better differentiate the empty wreck from the triangle icon of a frigate ship. Ultimately, this will more quickly find wreck icon from the overview list.
NPC icons : Problem : The gray frame inside the icon polygon does not allow, for example, to differentiate a player frigate vs NPC frigate. Solution : For NPC icons, use a denser frame or use a different icon color.
These are the bugs that I saw by playing, but I did not test the icons in all situations.
Note : For your info, I use 100% UI Scaling. |

I figured it out what causes this:
It seems to have something to do with the shaders you changed in this update. Because now, somehow, the "Shader quality" in the graphic options on the right column affects the character quality as well. This was not the case before.
If you turn "Shader Quality" to "low", it looks the same as if you would select the checkbox "Low quality Characters" in the middle column. In both cases, you lose the option to choose one of the seven sub-lights and brightness. I have never selected this checkbox until now for testing purposes and always had character texture quality set to high. Since I never touched my other graphic settings, this sounds like a problem of this patch.
So please, disconnect the "low" setting of "Shader quality" from character quality and creation. Thank you c: It works on high and medium, the latter which I currently use until this issue is resolved. |

This tracking camera issues is insanely annoying in pvp when trying to dscan obejcts and time is at a premium. Something was definitely broken with the most recent update.

I also have this bug. I have not all the time but I often when I mine ice.
Step to reproduce the bug:
It mostly happens when I move the camera manually and thereafter I click an object (asteroid) in space. The bug does not occur every time but it happens often enough to be easily reproduisable.
- Turn Tracking Camera = On - Move the camera and select manualy object in space. - Retry until the bug appears |

Since Basic skin Golem and also new skin Golem Kaalakiota are very bad quality. There is too much dust and wear and scratches on the ship. In addition, the level of detail is quite low enough. That lack of definition.
I was advised to reduce in the game configuration level "Shader Quality" and it does not give anything. The ship is still as ugly and dirty.
We want for the Golem skins the same level of detail and quality that the Cerberus for basic skin and Rook for Kaalakiota skin .
What is the status of these skins bad quality bug (basic skin and Kaalakiota) and do the correction is coming soon? |

First PvP session yesterday on TQ with the new icons ... yes, they are still a problem. Not so much the ship icons themselves, but, as said many times already, in conjunction with the rest. Without a proper background coloring of all players solo play is nearly impossible. Also, and this was said before, the new much more detailed icons "stack" badly on screen, means if a couple of ships plus drones plus wrecks are in the same place (zoomed out) you can't recognize the individual parts without hovering over the mess and even then ...
I don't see how you can fix this without a complete redesign ... the two main problem are: information overload by too much unneeded detail, and lack of clear shapes to separate ships, drones, NPCs and else.
I'm my own NPC alt.

Notification Tab still broken on Insurance Expired and Contracts Available, does not ding or give a popup until I check manually.
My long axis ships still lose grip and fishtail somewhere along a warp now and again. You know how surreal it is to see a Vagabond slide on warp space black ice? Let alone a Mammoth?
Beta Map still has issues, starting with 'circle' is not a good choice for cursor pointy thingy. Not being able to zoom in close enough to pinpoint harder to nail down anomalies isn't helping it's case.
Choice To Use Old Icons Check Box Missing. Sorry, the whole 'pay no attention to the man behind the curtain' trick isn't working to calm this infuriation, nor are upcoming Dev blogs on how the migraine producing new shiny icons are going to be 'tweaked' going to make this paying customer content to keep paying.
