No reason to not do it, except perhaps for some roleplaying reasons...

Maybe I would if there was a market worth a crap in lowsec. There isn't, and I still need goods, hence the alt.

It helps my alliance more to bug our enemies instead of noobs. 2.) I like small ships (therefore i can't tank sentries) and it's annoying watching targets fly by me at gates 3.) I just tried it and I keep forgetting about agro time and getting fried by the sentries after successfully pirating someone at a belt... - Hobble

You are in an alliance but don't manage to invite a prodder and trader corp to it that buys goods in Highsec and delivers it to lowsec for a little amount of money?
