Any UK players connect via Tiscali broadband
For the past week, From 6pm to 11pm i am unable to connect to eve, Internet connection is fine, just unable to connect to eve server.
Having just spend a useless 30 mins on the phone i just wondered if this was part of their FUP and if any other users are affected?

Thats the most annoying part, Im on an unlimited broadband package at the moment, I have been assured that im not on a FUP by their broadband department, It sucks because the only time i use my connection is 7-11 weekdays and weekend.
Im just gonna shop around and ask for my MAC code, thanks guys

update
After the initial email from tiscali saying im not on any FUP, I emailed them with the traceroutes, servers address etc.
I get an email saying that as long as im not hosting games my bandwidth should be low (duh!)
Then i get an email saying
"We would like to confirm that you are NOT BEING RESTRICTED OUTSIDE OF PEAK HOURS."
which would imply that i am being restricted inside peak hours,l contradicting they email they sent earlier!!
I just email back " I want my MAC code please"

sure It wasnt LLU?
local loop unbundling, If so tiscali have already started this along with other SPs, it means they own and maintain there own equipment in the exchange,
sounds like tiscali trying to baffle with bullpoo |

Edited by: migwar on 07/12/2006 09:51:27 Im sure its more than a coincidence that the day i asked for my MAC code, Pipex contacted me to transfer to them, Are pipex LLU through tiscali as well?
edited to add
Check http://www.ofcom.org.uk/consumeradvice/internet/customer_service/quality/
this info may help those locked into contracts and also if tiscali start acting silly beggers WRT to mac codes and tags |

Originally by: Meogeo At the end of the day Tiscali think they are forcing high end users out who download loads of stuff, boy they have it all wrong.
As for there forum all you get from Mr Tibbs is I will keep you upto date another load of Bull.
Well my contract does not run out till 7th August 2007 and I cannot stay with them for that long or I will end pulling my hair out.
Does anyone know of a legitimate way of getting out of my contract? without them charging me a bundle for the honour. they do not deserve decent people like us.
http://www.ofcom.org.uk/consumeradvice/internet/customer_service/quality/ a link i posted earlier, Follow the links on the there and complain to tiscali, if your complaints aren't resolved. Tiscali will have no choice but to void your contract

All wise words nimmo, i myself work in telecoms, occasionally customer facing.
Its frustrating because i know there working of a script and each time i phone i have to jump through the same hoops. Unfortunatly thats just how it is with outsourced call centers.
Zen broadband contract is just a rolling month, But I have to buy a new router before i switch, But a rolling month contract suggest a confidnce in there service. Also id much prefer a hard DL limit that arbitary packet shaping.
