Edited by: Lucy Moo on 22/11/2006 15:47:26 Everyone knows about the tvink cosmos, but who would want to farm it? The Angel encryptions skillbook will not be popular in Kali, this is because they say it might become minmatar encryptions. This is the most useless of all the encryption skillbooks because all the good stuff T2 stuff that be be invented comes from Serpentis and Gurista (gallente/caldari) invention jobs. The amarr will probably be useful aswell as it's used for cap based modules.
Amarr encryptions book can be found in Garisas
Caldari encryptions can be found in Friggi
Serpentis encryptions can be found in Deltole
The angel is also by far the hardest to tank, doing 2000+ dps with elite npc frigs that scramble and web, it's very easy to die.
It's the serpentis and gurista encryption books that be worth the most in kali, all the best invention jobs (gallente/caldari) will require those two skills, and these two books are far easier to farm than the angel one.
The skillbook drop is also a lot rarer than the OP would have you believe. Afterall, if all this was true, he would be here posting this on the forums.
Doesn't this post belong in the missions or skills forum btw? This is a post about a skillbook and farming it from cosmos missions afterall.

That is not entirely true. The complex in Tvink is the only one that isn't rated as a deadspace complex. That means that you are able to warp directly into the last stage where the book is. I know from personal experince that you can do it with as few as 2 pilots, and get approx. a book per hour. The trick in Tvink is that the complex is divided into two separate, far apart, groups. If you just aggro 1 group and keep to the cans on that side you'll be fairly safe. As it is not a deadspace, the third room is also littered with cans, that you'll be able to warp to, to de-aggro, making it far easier than any other complex i've been to.
The comment about Gallente/Caldari being much better is just utter rubbish. You sound like one of those farmers that try to discourage ordinary players from getting a book for invention.

Made 2 bil in 4 days doing the Deltole plex and hacking Serpentis skillbooks. They are in demand mainly because they are really hard to get. Unlike the Tvink plex, you cant bring a BS nor can you warp anywhere. It is you vs the plex no matter what. Ive seen HAC's get killed, and even with 93% kinetic and thermal resists I can only do the plex if I kill the scrambler frigates and destroy at least 1/3 of the cruisers before they get within optimal range.
CCP never said they would seed these books. Just like datacores, you cannot just buy this stuff on the market. You need to hack/dig/salvage this stuff, at least that is what they said. Since they are difficult to get, you can sell them at high prices.
If you want a challenge go to Deltole heh. I have yet to see ANY ship besides a HAC or command vessel able to solo this plex. Many have tried and many have died.

Great spin, it sounds like you don't want your farming disturbed . That complex is bugged (can warp direct to the room with the skillbooks) and the guy who farms it is hiding in a noob corp to protect himself whilst griefing other players by wardeccing them with his alts. Hmm, exploiting a bug and griefing. That takes us down a certain road...

The funny thing is that during my first experiences with this farmer, he wasn't even hacking the proper cans for the skillbooks. Protecting the Angel Simple Trigger Mechanism? I think not. Seems he has caught on since then, however.

I heard that locals in Deltole are very nice people and will more likely to help you in your mission. "It's great being Amarr, ain't it?Ö"

This post just goes to prove how much ISK opportunity there is in Tvink. This is obviously an alt of someone who is trying desperately to get people to go ANYWHERE but here. The truth is Tvink is the best out of all of them. The fact that it is not a deadspace area, means you can book mark and warp in and out quite easily. Also MWD works just fine!
If his attempt to get this post moved to another forum with less traffic doesn't solidify my point I don't know what will. I want this post to stay in General Discussion because it is about making ISK and thats something that the general population of EvE is concerned with.

What I don't understand is why those pirate parts sell for so much. Not that I complain, since I sell those I find, but those COSMOS items aren't that good. Some people must be spending on a COSMOS module more than what it would cost to buy a better named.

In the first line of my post I mentioned that I am going to be moving on to other things when Kali comes out. Namely invention and salvaging. I think it will be a nice change of pace, since I like the variety of life.
I don't want to get in to an arguement over who is telling the truth or not. Everyone here is more than capable of going to Tvink and seeing the truth for themsevles.

Yeah I know. But all those characters belong to one guy! He's just a sad boy "playing with himself". Anyway, he's on a Euro time frame, so you should be able to get the book without him interferring from around 0200 Eve to 1500 EVE.

eveinfo.com has COSMOS information on all races.. every race has it's own COSMOS region, so it might be better to use your own race's area, as it'll spread the 'load' of thousands of people hunting the same books, plus the damage types will be aligned to your race. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Xaroth Brook Brainiac of Doomcraft Member of R I S E

Sounds like perfectly legal tactics in just about every mmorpg i've ever played, using the enviroment to your advantage, this goes especially for EVE.

LOL. I farmed Serpentis Survey Site (in Deltole) solo in Enyo without any problems for a week, although I am not sure about billions of isk. I think you can make about 200-300 mil a day if you lucky with Serpentis Encryption books and Threaded Maps, but this coming to the end. Anyway, the only tricky part there is the "right" spawn with 4 Ice Breakers. Once you kill them you can tank whole complex in AF. So much for the challenge. However, Deltole is very popular with "caracalians" who die there in gangs.
If you really want the COSMOS challenge, then go to Ani, get Amarr general inisgina II tag, find Jakela Planation and go the last pocket ( actual plantation).

Farming is pretty boring and I can see why SOME people get sick of it pretty quickly. Other people are just obsessive compulsive about accumulating as much isk as possible.

Wait, so this clown actually war decs or just runs his mouth?
If he war decs, show up with a few buddies when the war goes live and "farm" him and the cosmos plex! (win / win)

If it wasn't for the fun down South, I'd go and park my ship next to this clown inside "his" plex...

ôb. after you warp in, you will be scanned (by a covert alt). after you start hacking, at least two characters from said corp will arrive to blow you up. they will also be destroyed by concord (to comply with the rules), but you are dead too, and your can looted by the original chars form the NPC corp. Rinse, repeat (if you choose to lose more ships).ö Take a passive shield tank which does the complex with ease and lol at all those gankers failing to gank you and getting blown up by Concord. Its fun to watch gankers fail.
ôI doubt that you can find "5 and 10 of these books" in a day. ( Unless it's been changed recently, you are lucky to get 1 book from day of camping).ö My record is 3 an hour and my average is 2 a day and I only pay a few hours after work. Camping all day would mean 5 to 10 is easy. Its always been easy to get lots of books if you know what to do.

A lot of the items found in COSMOS complexes are required for missions. Some players who want to raise standings fast, will rather just buy the items on market than to take the time to find them.
