Edited by: Caledric on 23/11/2006 11:33:17 Is it up yet? Huh? Huh? I'm impatient ;p Can't seem to get back to sleep and need something to do... <stares at WoW> no raids in WoW so no reason to login that game... nothing else to do... I going insane!
Oh and for those who say I need a life for being up this early and trying to login (yeah I'm east coast) I'm in the US military... the past 3 days (prior to last night) I had 5 hours sleep and Zero EVE playing time total... I just finally got a good 8 hours sleep last night and now I can't get back to sleep and I want to play!

This is pretty awesome, because it gives me the confidence to continue not cleaning up my insta collection.
On a related note, what applications do the cluster machines actually run in order to startup? Do you just hit up Tranquility.exe or what?

ok. status.
we had problems. we tried 3 startup's and none of them worked. while this sounds bad, it's really good as we might have had these problems when we deployed. me, zulupark and nozh are reading the logs now and i will try to give you more information.

Yeah, I think its good too. Then the test was valuable and will provide lots of good info.

Everythign else would've surprised us anyways. It's good you can look into these problems now rather then after the deployment though.

Edited by: Phichi on 23/11/2006 12:02:04 As anyone that has ever implemented any major server or network upgrade knows.... it never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever.... (do i really need to type it out anymore?) really goes entirely to plan. Somthing always bugs out and its just the way running out this much code is. On that note I have to say that the ccp team has never in my eyes done a bad patch job. People complain about an extra day or that somthing minor bugs out for a week blah blah blah. But in the end these guys actually work their tails off to make us happy in the first place, and when that murphys law thing takes hold... they work their tails off to fix it. Now the people that say "Well thats what they get paid for". They don't know ****, cause they have obviously never worked in the corporate world where you can get rewarded for providing no customer service and still takin the customers money ( just ask microsoft, verizon, sony, aol, hp, tyco, or any company i have ever worked for. etc...) In the end, I expect some major hiccups with a patch the size of kali... but looking at the cool **** they are coming up with, I don't care cause I know they are prepping for it the best they can. Rock on.

hit a few problems today, we kept having nodes dying on startup. not sure why yet but it's being looked into. looks like these tests are worth us doing
hopefully we can maybe get some more done this weekend, but i need to get clearance from the higher powers for that.
