The raven is currently a pretty good battleship, but when the Kali hits, it will lose a lot of it's danger potential, in the form of the Javelin torpedo nerf. I have thought of a solution to this grievous balance problem.
The raven has long been unable to tackle respectably, while running a reasonable tank. It also has two less hardpoints than high slots, and nothing to fit in these than nos. Be aware, this idea is completely moronic. I just want to know how many people actually read the post, and don't just reply having read the topic, and maybe the first sentence. If you read it, don't reply. We'll get a list of muppets as the list of replies. Anyway, I think that one of these spare "utility" slots should be turned into a midslot, allowing the raven pilot to tackle somewhat, as well as running his tank.
With the ECM changes, this shouldn't make the raven a cool ECM platform like the scorp, and it will make up for the nerfage of the Javelins.
What do you think?
Between corps atm, the NPC one is strictly a temporary thing.

Do you need those engineering mods to fit SIX guns? THe Raven only has six launcher slots...I'm sure if it had eight we'd have to fit the CPU mods too...

Yes but you will need to use 1-2 RCU T2 to fit 8 launchers. Quite balanced.

Let's go all the way. Raven is underpowered, and needs an 8/8/8 layout, with the cpu / grid to fit all teh slots without fitting mods!

Once the Raven can fit a doomsday device and have a big enough drone bay for fighters then it will no longer be nerfed!

Raven also needs at least 7 low slots and a base speed of 300 m/s so it can FLY like the bird it is supposed to be! ZOMG!

when 8 tachs do as much dmg from any range with all 4 dmg types as torps do.

if it traded a low for a mid i could maybe understand that. however it would have to also trade in some cpu or grid in the process to keep from being overpowered.

Pfft. Why stop there. 9 launchers (who cares if there's 8 highs, they still get 9 launchers! Perhaps make a Caldari-Minmatar hybrid raven with ducttape capabilities!).
