Oh. As far as I'm concerned, it's all CCP's problem.
Sorry if that sounded blunt but that's the way it is.

There is more than one FPS problem, the first is the starmap causing the poor FPS, the second is in stations aswell and may be because of nvidia cards. One solution I've seen in the eve-chaos channel is to force vsync off for EVE.
Doesn't look like the starmap bug will be fixed for tomorrows release either. |

Doesn't help much in my case. Brings it up from ~30 in space to ~40.
And yea, post-patch patch AHOY!

Made a thread abou this a while ago and it went unnoticed. It's know for a while. Lets just hope they fixed it for the patch they get on TQ or EvE is fubar for a while. Btw: Going from windowed mode to fullscreen fixes it - but who plays eve fullscreen? That's like eve wit sound - a myth.

Probably folks who PvP. FPS are better in fullscreen.
Did you include the info about fullscreen/windowed in your bug report?

In terms of this issue and this game, Network communication has nothing to do with the graphics issues some of us are having.
If you sit idle in station and don't do much, there is very little communication between your client and the servers. All graphics rendering are done on the local PC.
I doubt the Map is the true problem here, but I do have a feeling some line of code or a simple command was added that is causing this.
In Full screen, I hav no isses with lag or stutter. What I do see is that my FPS is locked to the same as my refresh rate of my monitor. I have seen this in other games, but reversed in that in Windowed mode, it would lock to my Refresh rate and in full screen everythign would be normal. In one game, the Devs actually found the issue and it was that someone added or didn't modify a simple command, dealing with Dx3D, and it cause clients to lock the FPS at the refresh rate of the monitor. I am wondering if the same thing has happened here.
As for setting, I have gone so far as to revert to the lowest resolution setting for my card to see if the problem would correct itself. Not much of a change. I gained 10FPS in station, still had the stutter, and also still had some odd shadowing effects on a moon near the station I'm at.
I do think that something has been added or left out that is causing this issue.

Originally by: Victor Valka ...Another issues I get: the screen flashes white when entering a new system, switching focus back to the ship form an object in space and when switching back from system or starmap view to in-flight view.
Anyone else got this?
Yes, I also had the screen flashing white when entering new systems when I tested yesterday. Very annoying.

Game menu, under 'Shortcuts' tab. There should be a shortcut named 'Open FPS Monitor'.
Enjoy.

LCD.
Mine also has a refresh rate of 60. It's pretty much a standard -- I think.

It IS the stars, I found that there was a bug before where the stars wouldnt show until map is opened/closed, and my fps was fine before I did that. After the stars showed, fps dropped horribly.
