When flying missions I always had a WCS fitted and this way never lost a ship. Will NPCs in Kali still scramble? Happened once on SISI, and no chance to get away.

If you need WCS in missions you're making something pretty wrong in the first place.
I have never had any WCS in a mission IIRC.
(- If you don't know a mission, scout it with a shuttle first.) - Choose a fitting that allows you to survive and kill the initial aggroing spawn. - Then make the mission spawn by spawn, - always aligned to warp out and - with the scramblers as primary.
If this doesn't work for you (yet), choose an agent one level deeper. -- This game is still in beta stage |

If you're soloing a mission with scrambling NPCs, I would say have a fair tank on your ship and keep 5 light drones ready, of the appropriate damage type for the scramblers. Then if they lock you down you have a chance to kill the scramblers and get away. ------------------------ *opinions stated are not necessarily those of my corporation or alliance |

i dont NEED wcs. i just dont need the one low. i do missions since i started the game in early 2004, and i've soloed level4 since they came out. heck i even solo some level 4's in a railox because the missiles bore me. and i never lost a ship bigger than a cruiser to a npc. on the other hand hear ppl telling me they lost their BS because NPCs scrambled them, i always could warp out even with everything shooting at me and trying to scramble. dont tell me i do something wrong. i also play maybe once a week, so i dont earn assloads, and i dont plan to change that just to be able to afford new BS and mods all the time.
sometimes you just land in the middle of a spawn and you cant go for distance or have the time to take out all frigs. you have to align as soon as possible, destroy what you can, get out and come back.

Well, no one said missioning should be riskless. Sometimes you do land in it and lose a ship- thats the way of life. Combat should carry the risk of ship loss, even if it is against NPCs. -----------------------------------------------

I get frequent disconnects ... having 1/2 wcs on my ship allows me to survive it

You can still fly missions with WCS, locking just takes longer and your max range will be somewhat lower. Not really things that make mission running impossible :) _______________________________________________________________________

1 wcs is a vague inconvenience. Will lose you fights in PvP, but can't see it crippling mission running/ratting.
However there's lots of funky lowslot modules out there that you could fit instead. PDS II for example, makes a shield tank much less likely to fold. Damage control, is great if you're 'going down' as you have just that much longer to finish the scrambling ship. Damage mod, is kinda nice, even if you already have a couple already.
Or perhaps a sensor backup, if you're missioning against jammers.

Well in that case, the objection is nullified. There are around 20 other modules for your spare low slot that are more of service for you than a unneeded WCS.
Apart from that: If you play missions since early 2004 and still have no clue what to fit in a spare low slot, i once again say you are making something pretty wrong in the first place.
I could usefully fit 20 lowslots and still have noone to spare.

Nope. Wrong, sorry. If you disconnect, you warp away. Even if your ship is scrambled by NPCs (not if it's scrambled by players). So you don't need WCS to survive disconnects. -- This game is still in beta stage |

Simple, fit a WCS, suck up the penalty, or don't fit a WCS and die if you screw up.
Because I said so...

do you think after the changes i fly with one empty lowslot? if you aren't smart enough to understand that a few % more damage, range, cap/s or whatever don't compare to not having to replace a whole ship including stuff i cannot help you. especially when you make 10-20 million isk / week avg cause you have a live with friends, work and everything and don't want to waste your time in a game grinding money. i'll have to live with it anyway, did not even ask for a game change. it was just a question if npcs still will scramble you know? and maybe there are other ppl like me here that have other concerns than pvp also. your flames are of no interest here. and from now lets try to keep things nice, theres no need to start getting personal, kid ;) so if you don't have anything interesting to say to the topic just troll away and ask your mommy for attention.
and btw: when you need 20 lowslots to complete a mission, you might choose an agent one level deeper.
