Edited by: xeom on 27/11/2006 23:06:36 Kali is still not ready for TQ i think.Just of the top of my head i can think of two game breaking bugs.
First off FPS reduced by a solid 50%.And secondly the map still has ton of graphical issues.
Can anybody else post some major bugs you are still getting? ---

Edited by: Xori Ruscuv on 27/11/2006 23:07:58 Yeah I don't know what they're thinking. It isn't ready. We know it and they know it.
(Edit incoming if that isn't what you're posting about )
Drone bugs still present? Dunno, I have been been on sisi for a while, so I don't know if the drones are still misbehaving.
It's great playing Caldari-online, isn't it?

I am curious if they ever plan to retexture the Amarrian Stations so they don't flicker anymore. ------------------------------------- Proud member of G Guild! |

It's called 'texture clipping' and no. Not until the new graphic engine.
It wouldn't make sense if they did, now would it?

Yeah, and uh... it isn't difficult to fix it, TBH. Lots of people won't be upgrading to the new engine for quite a while after it is released, anyway...

There are 2 engines coming out soon(tm)
1 is Eve classic which is the directx9 compatible one, that does actually contain a lot of new skins. Could work then.
2 is the Vista client, which will (hopefully) take advantage of the latest effects and programming available. (DX10 iirc)

Both true. Hopefully it will work then.
Texture clipping problems I've personally encountered are due to coincident faces using different textures, however (or coincident faces using the same texture but having an incorrect normal). This is not difficult to fix.
There is perhaps another cause that I'm not recalling/haven't personally encountered?

NICE, I get a staggering 15 fps undocked, not in a battle. It's because of the friggin stars in the background for the "seamless" map... pointless dots just lagging up the place.

they will release because the machine must roll on, they would release it even if they knew it would drop the servers for days (which from past experience it just might)

In addition to that now (as of build 27819) the planet rings flicker through planets.
I guess if we want this fixed we'll have to wait for Kali 3 and a whole new set of graphics bugs. ... |
