Trying to troubleshoot issues on mine. The patch downloaded, seemed to install fine. Eve now crashes after displaying the new splash screen. Currently downloading the full client, so another 90 minutes to see if it will work.

To help people find similar issues easier, how about breaking this thread into several different ones.
Errors prior to character selection screen Errors on character selection screen Errors while docked Errors while in space Errors while on map screen
Eve-search does help some, but its not reliable enough to really use since people describe the same symptoms differently.

Originally by: Kwishin Just as an update I unistalled yet again, downloaded the client yet again (this time the new build 27912)and am still experiencing the game not loading to the login screen, it just crashes after about 20 seconds.
I have never made any changes to my client and the game was running fine before this patch. It would be nice to see this appear on the known issues list so that at least I know that you are addressing this problem instead of wasting the money that I just spent upgrading to a paying member. The solution about a splash screen is not relelvant to my problem, nor have I ever made any changes to the client.
You may have the same problem as me. Start the log server application (its in the EVE directory, select new dataset (something like that, i am at work and cant try). Start the Eve client, you will start seeing the log server fill up. Work your way to near the bottom (there will be one error like 2 items from the top, i think you can ignore this). Are there a bunch of script errors that mention a non existing directory "c:/some directory/revelations\eve\lib\somefile.xx"
If so, we have the same problem.
None of my quotes or statements should be taken literally. I am going from memory, and that was at 2:30 am this morning when I looked at this.

I tried the above and the client still crashes after the Revelations splash screen.
I saw that one also on one of my machines (or a similar problem). Check these 2 things:
Verify that your running DirectX9.0c Check that you have Eve installed in the default directory.
One of these two fixed it for me (I had an Eve 1 and Eve 2 directory for running current and test server versions)

I am also getting the exact same messages in my log file (about an unhandled exception).
I have spare hard drives, spare copies of windows, and no life, so trying a fresh install.
If someone finds a solution, please post it here. I am tired of searching multiple threads repeatedly trying to find a solution (in case someone posts since my last check)
Thanks

I was having the crash after the splash screen problem (with the log file showing a python exception). So I reinstalled windows (spare hard drive), its now working.
Was XP Pro on a 2003 domain
Now XP home, no domain
machine Dell Poweredge 400sc, 768meg ram, ati radeon x850
I would still like to find a better fix, would prefer to use my other hard drive :)
