Edited by: Garataus on 29/11/2006 06:29:49 I realise this question gets asked a lot but im not a noob, i want to know spacifics. Most people can pull a bunch of neigh-unobtainable modules out of their butts, but 99% of us (me included) just cant. Personally my great loves in eve are flying really fast and tanking really hard. DPS doesnt matter to me one bit. Currrently i fly a hard tanked domi, nothing but resists plates and cap rechargers really. Drones and sucking like a Big fat rat are the order of the day.
My question is thus, Which ship+module+whatever combination is the overall best at tanking maximum hp. I dont care about max resists, becuase lets be honest. 95% resists across the board doesnt help a whole lot if you cant keep your tank up for more than 5 seconds. What i want is maximum average sustainablility for hp.

I hope you get banned for that line.
The answer is the Abaddon or Rohk btw if you want to focus on Tech II and cheaper. No major pvp tank is sustainable, well, maybe capitals.

Sustainability is a relative term. Sustainable to me means "lasts long enough for my target to (1) die, (2) run away, or (3) get bored." Which are you looking for. If not that, then how long? What kind of cap drain? That's the hard part about dictating tank "strength." --- Hey hey let's go kenka suru! Taisetsuna mono protect my balls! Boku ga warui so lets fighting! Indeed, this whole exersize is highly subjective. For now restrict all suggestions to BS size class. I cant see myself getting into anything other than a BS or HAC for the moment. Also, PVE is my main consern here becuase if i wanted to PVP i wouldent be worrying about resists, namely because they dont play as large a role. You cant infinite tank anyone in PVP thats been around longer than a day.
So, i guess i should have specified further. Which BS has the longest sustainable tank averaged against highest resists. That is, i realise this is somewhat subjective, but what im looking for here is " hey you can get the abbadon to 80 resists and heal such and such a second for as long as you like". Ideas are fine. Im trying to last as long as possable against npc rats. BS rats. Preferably forever.

dual large rep t2. 3x t2 hardners. 1x energized nano 3x cap II 1x relay 1 AB or whatever..on Apoc is around 600-650 dps worth of tank and all with t2 gear.
both reps can run unnosed forever with near max cap-skills. do to the cap bonus on apoc its the only ship i know that can do that.(pre Rev) without "fancy" mods.
