Ok, this mission is insane. I just did the level 3 variant vs Guristas in my Apoc, I had to warp out twice to get more cap boosters, and twice because I was perma-jammed by the **** Dire Wreckers. 67 Cap Booster 800Ęs laterą I finished the mission in two hours, and it took another hour to loot and salvage everything! I got exactly 1 decent loot drop, a Hypnos Multispectral and 45 salvage comps.
At least itĘs open space, I just love sitting and waiting for the literally 20 minutes it takes to fly through deadspace pockets if you have to warp out in the last one.
Also, was I just really unlucky to have it be 3 jumps away from my station, or is this one of those ones that is usually not in your home system? Even with warp to 0 (thank god) it still takes a long time for a BS to traverse a few systems.
Other than that it rocks, but **** is it nuts.

i don't know whats the matter,
i got this mission (Level III, Guristas) and tried it first with a harpy, not doable and warped out
so I got a drake and it worked very well, needed to warp out once and adjust my setup. But afterwards hell of fun. I actually was challenged by this mission and not bored to death.
so give me more of this, I'm loving it. Ok the rewards where kinda crappy, but the bounty made up for it! i was used to be ceo and now I have nothing to say, this is so relaxing :) |

So does anyone actually "know" the trick to completing this mission? Is it kill the rats in hierarchal order (frigs -> Battleships)? Or is it "time based"/wave? Or is it a combination of the 2?

i dunno about anyone else but i actually appreciate not being spoon fed information about missions before i do them especailly the new missions. this is a GAME!!! so you have to PLAY it, in the older missions you could sit there and read the newspaper,, looking up only to target and activate your weps. NOW there is a reason to be concentrating (as you bloody well should be) when fighting!
also i notice that lots of people come on here who are obviously sporting very expensive ships etc and lots of SP however it is nice now taht newer players no get missions where they HAVE to gang up and indeed by the sounds of it for the level 4 ones where experienced players HAVE to gang up to get the missions done, there is no longer a boring grind to get to lvl 3 agents and start making decent money and getting a decent challenge!
my 2 cents

Gotten from Level 2 Agent at Augnais
The Blockade
Mission briefing Pirates have set up a blockade near a hidden stargate in Augnais, and are swarming over any passersby, which are mostly merchants and civilians. Pirates tend to create these temporary blockades at ill-defended stargates, usually ones which have been set up by civilians and are not guarded by our forces. But we still have an obligation to protect the citizens of Algintal. Therefore I want you, to fly to the stargate and eliminate the illegal blockade.
Overview and Objectives The following objectives must be completed to finish the mission: Objective Eliminate the leader of the pirates blockading the stargate. You will be informed when he has been dispatched, his demise should disperse the pirate gang eventually.: Rewards The following rewards and bonuses will be yours if you complete this mission: 36000 Isk Base 31000 Bonus
----------
Whats ridiculous about it??
Within 2 Minutes over 100 ships show up, if you warp out to repair, when you come back another 50 have shown, soon you have 4 'pages' of full overview of ships. And some of these are larger ships.
Luckilly I only lost 0.1 standing for telling the agent ot stick it.. All this for 67K ISK?...Now THAT's risk vs reward..RIGHT!
You can flame me now like you always do (like I care)..just a warning to others
tried the lvl 2 version my self yesterday and it is way harder than it used to be, in a ruppie with t2 hardners and rep i still had to warp out several times and at the end repair 50% or my hull

Edited by: Ordo Lucius on 30/11/2006 12:14:59 LOL! I did "The Blockade" last night and i gotta say... omgwtf? Ive never seen/fought so many rats in my entire life (in eve at least)... My, situational tactic was this, to fly away from the spawns, while my 5 med drones killed the rats one by one. I left the cruisers alone till the end tho, dont actually know why, i think i was thinking "the frigs will catch up to me, the cruisers wont... kill the big threat first" Turns out that was the best idea, as the next wave hit after you had taken out a certain cruiser... :D Oh, and i was in a thorax, (imo) the best mission cruiser ever, it lets you improvise :D
The reward for that mission was kinda crappy tho...
EDIT - Ordo didnt warp out once

Tried level 3 one this morning. After several waves I had to abandon it because I ran out of ammo!
Also, by the third wave of reinforcements, I was running late for work.
Was making about 250K per BC, and there were a lot of them, so the mission reward is peanuts by comparison

Edited by: Monty Tomasi on 30/11/2006 13:48:10 Fly away from the rats and let the smaller ships catch you first. Destroy the little ones and then let the bigger ones catch up. After destroying them the next wave of ships will come in some distance away (depending on how far you've moved off the starting point).
Repeat the same for each wave and you string 'em out and pick 'em off. Simple.

Did just tested the Blockade (Angels) on SiSi, after reading all these posts:
Easy mission w. a Gist Raven, low LP/Rewards because of the "new tables", no chance even getting near the bonus. Just don't shoot the highest bountys 1st as they seemed to be the triggers to the next wave...(Malakims im my case)!!!! Other than that: Just sit there w. the permatank running, shoot missiles & enjoy the high bountys (app. 15-17,5mio in a 0,6). --

I loaded up revelations and got this mission first thing from my level II agent (163K + 139K bonus; 235 LP). I completed it in my Tristan. Took out the frigates first from distance, then dove in, webified, orbited and blasted away cruisers; Rinse repeat for next wave, except in third wave there were several target jamming frigates so I had to get in under their ECM falloff first. Was not a hard mission but took time. With the reward and ship bounties, I found it to be pretty good income. So many wrecks though...

I did the lvl 2 mission with no problem. Yes it did take a while and I burned through a lot of ammo but I did not have to warp out once. It takes some thought and planning but it can be done. I think it's well worth the money as I racked up a lot of bounties on top of the reward and bonus money (my only complaint would be the woefully low % of loot to be found amongst all those wrecks when I was all said and done). I was in a rupture, with lots of armor hardners and a medium armor repairer, along with 4 drones. 3 720mm howitzers and two heavy missile launchers. Long mission but well able to be completed if you do it right.
I want to thank CCP for a whole new look and different feel on a mission and I'm glad my agent gave it to me so soon.

/emote is using moros in siege mode...
unless if it's in deadspace -------- The BoB model is bad for business. Incidently the BoB model is more suited for a game such as WoW where as the ASCN model more suited for Eve.

hehe I'm doing the lvl4 mission out in 0.0, shooting at DED battleships. No fun at all I tell you Shot the cruisers and webifier battery, had to bail out, came back, plan was to take one bs at the time. well, with 60% resistance all over I barely scratched the paint! And the damage they do together is scary to say the least. Gonna bring two friends later today I recon

"If you want a misison this hard fine (well actually not fine, not even remotely fine) but at least make the rewards equal the difficulty."
For the love of God, can't people understand that all missions start off at the lowest possible rate. Then as people run them and turn the mission in/deny the mission the mission goes up in value. If enough take a long time/don't turn it in, the alloted bonus time reaches 6 hours... which means it is as hard as they come.

Nice Mission :) Maybe a little bit hard for Newbies. But no problem with Cerberus.
More such mission - and randomize the missions (number of waves, NPCs, triggers).

I've been running lvl 2 missions for a few weeks and just started on lvl 3 but tbh they're a bit hairy in my Thorax and I can't fly BC yet so I decided to go back to lvl 2.
Ooh.. a new mission "The Blockade". Low reward so it must be easy! I didn't read the details properly and didn't check here first so of course I got omg.wtf.pwned by the third of fourth wave.
So I went back with a shiny new Thorax and spawned another couple of waves and lost that ship too
I finally realise that killing the gang leaders without killing the others first is what triggers the next spawn
Then I spent half the night clearing up dozens and dozens of rats with lots of warping out and tweaking my setup
I lost two ships and lots of fittings, but collected tons of bounties so I ended up about 4mil down
I learned a lot about fitting my Thorax and tactically taking out some ships with guns and drones while avoiding aggro from others.
All in all a great mission

I wasnt that hard with a T2 fitted Apoc and a Drake. Jut look there is always a mob with a name none of the other ships has and dont kill it.
If you have good tanks and some buddys this is a nice mission to farm till your sick of it. and have a salvager ready too.
This was for a Lvl 3 agent I'm sure the lvl 4 is sick.
I liked this mission. =)

This mission is a walk if you do it right. I do the angels LV4 one in my raven with no warpouts and bag about 30mil in bounties and ****loads of good loot.
How?
I warp in first with a fast ship - I use an Atron with 2x BHM Overdrive and a 1Mn MWD. You need to be be able to clear 4km/s otherwise the stasis tower will web you down to hittable speed.
First thing I do is create 4 bookmarks at 150km either side/end of the gate. Back to base, hop in the raven and warp to bookmark 1. Target ships, destroy. I find the trigger for wave 2 is ususally a BS to they are last. As soon as they start getting within their hitting range warp to the next bookmark (don't go opposite as you will land 300k away). Target. start shooting. Rinse. Repeat.
I salvage with a nano mammoth with 10mn ABII because the wrecks are spread out quite a bit. Takes about 1.5 - 2 hours max. -- Noble Scumbag
