hahaha
you obviously have no clue about how devs work in what so ever game or company.
"working on it" means just about nothing

Thats besides the point...no need for this insesent whining about it. I too, like someone else had already said, would rather see them working on fixing in game issues.
And if thats good enough for you, download quickfit for crying out load. It has all the new ships stats.
Dont get me wrong, I would eventually like to see it updated. And a thread about getting it updated is fine too. But the OP bumping it over and over and over again saying the same thing is just rediculous.

The update of the item database would be a nice-to-have improvement. And stopping to call me an idiot would also be a nice-to-have improvement. It's probably too much to wish that one of those two thing would change in the near future.

Read the freakin dev blog...thier working on it
I have read the dev blog. And just in case I understand their setup well enough, there is a team - called the web cell - which takes care of such tasks. But maybe I am really an idiot (or working too long in IT business) too see why it takes so long to update this database.
By the way, the bump rules say that you can bump a thread once a day. And you should avoid writing just 'bump'. But today, I wrote far too much already. So there is only a normal bump left.
Bump.

I think he's trying to make a point. And if it annoys you so much...try and ignor it. Do the words 'free choice' mean anything to you?

Are you serious?
Copiing data by typing would be like pushing your car forward yourself instead of driving it...
Tying the website and in-game item database together would be a bad idea since it would create a single point of failure should anything bad happen to the database. It also opens up the game's server database to potential DoS attacks through the web site, in addition to causing overall slowdowns to EVE. What we see on the website is most likely a stripped-down version of the in-game database, most likely running on a different server configuration that makes copying data from one to the other a non-trivial matter. The Database could use some love though.

the blog of the dev 'Garthagk' was posted on 13.12.2006, more than 3 months ago, and in the blog he says "Anyway, this is presently in the works. Hopefully be done this week". It has been more than 13 weeks and item database is still not updated.
He also says "We've been waiting on Revelations to stabilize. It'd be annoying if we had to render the data out multiple times, because the tools we use to do this aren't the most fun to use". Does this mean item database will be updated after all Revelations patches are out? When is the next Revelations patch? What is this "data rendering tool"? If one fellow player can update the item database on his own website by just looking at the item info from game and update his website manually over a day, what good is it using those "data rendering tools" by the Web Cell?

Signed.
What use is the Item Database if it's incomplete or hasn't been updated to reflect the changes to some of the ships since Revelations?
CCP, if you can't be bothered to update it - DELETE IT!
Seriously, how long can this take?

The CEO of the company said himself that the in-game database uses M$ SQL Server, which I work with on a daily basis. I know for a fact that it is not that difficult to write a script for this kind of thing. It's actually a pretty standard practice. It could easily be ran during downtime, and if the web site uses SQL Server it's that much easier. However, without knowing the inner workings of the company and their IT operations, who can really say?

really? MS SQL Server? and the website is using ASP too, it would only take couple of hours then. I guess the item database page is not using a script that'd reflect database changes automaticly, so it's made manually? ASP is easy, just get the necessary table/column names and write a script that'll retreieve the data and list the items automaticly in item database page. I alone built an online shop for a boutique in a day. Is the Web Cell on strike or something?
