So I was taking a look at the various armor rigs and umm yeah, they blow very hard. The bonuses are nice however the -10% speed penalty just sucks. I fly blaster boats and I can't justify borking my speed for increased tank on these things. What gives with this?
On a side note the shield rigs rule big f-ing deal they get a sig penalty thats almost like no penalty at all.

I can tell you who lost, Gallante did. It's not that I want to use the rigs penalty free, more than I would like one that made sense.

Yes it has, a line of modules was released and while I'm all about variance I didn't even mind the inherent beef that shield tanking got with the hp/cap buff. However now shield tanks can slap rigs on to easily plug holes in thier tank without taking a meaningful penalty at all while armor tanks on the other hand have to take a nasty speed hit in order to accomplish the same thing.
I think these penaltys are reversed in all honesty.

F U, I am training Armor rigging and I'll still take a 5% total speed nerf with Rigging V

In fact I won't train armor rigging. The only rigs I see myself using are the cap related ones, even the dmg rigs blow.

Thats for 1 rig, and thats with perfect skills. Suppose 3 armor rigs with riggin 4 then your looking at a 30+ m/s reduction in speed compounded when using AB/MWD. Now here is the kicker armor tanking does NOT slow you down it increases your mass which lowers your agility factor. It does however have the side effect of lowering your boost % from AB and MWD.
