I was feeling bored tonight sitting in Aurohunen doing nothing and decided to challenge Ioctl to a 1 on 1 fight (No jamming) to Stucture. He Accepted and went to a mid space bm he said he made he ganged me and i warped to him upon getting there he proceeded to Target jam and warp scramble me and his buggy in a megathron warped in and they dtarted pounding me. In the end i died and yes it was a horribly stupid way to die. I had talked with him before and he seemed to be an honorable guy so i believed him that he would fight 1 on 1 to structure even if he was winning or losing i would have stopped at stucture if i had been winning but he stabbed me in the back. As many of you guys have probably read I am to trusting a person and that is obiously shown here but it is still striking a low blow. Guess he didn't have any honor after all. Call me a whiner i'm sure someone will but i can live with the loss of my ship and implants oh wellsee you in hell Ioctl

well, that's a penis in the eye for all the people who complain that pirates will never accept a 1v1, and are cowards, etc.
Unlucky, Falzone.
And up until today, I thought CoC were the sort of guys that would keep their word. .

Why should Hunters keep thier word? We all know that pirats don't hold to thiers. Spelling corrections welcome, but don't expect me to edit my post. |

We don't expect anyone to keep their word, we are lied to every time we do our work. But personally, I would have made the exception for CoC too.
so, kudos for being sneaky, and shame on you for being sneaky. .

Perhaps because hunters are supposed to be the good guys and good guys always keep their word, right ? Spawn of the Devil

I agree with drunkenmaster, I also would have trusted CoC to keep their word and honour.
Bit of a dissapointment really

Well, i dont really know what to say about this.
Im asked to fight 1v1 all the time by pirates, i never will, i dont trust you guys.
And im sure you have a 7mill bounty on your head Falzone.
He took his chance it seems.
Personally im surprised you accepted the invitation.
Also, im sure you have been a vey bad boy lately if the things u have done are true.
think it was xpohoc that gave a good point though, no matter the way we wish to play EVE, we are all players, and should all get on.

darth, I think we all do get along fine actually. There are some exceptions whom I wouldn't put in a room together, but in general I think were all decent.
Its just that within Space Invaders everyone has/had mad respect for Cult, which I'm fairly sure is a bit dented now. I guess it was just a complete surprise for some.
naughty naughty good guys!

And if Pirates are the bad guys and bad guys always lie, then the hunter knew that, and knew the fight wasn't to structure but to death?

no, because it was obvious that Falzone had a carebear moment.
Its embarassing and I would appreciate it if this information would be kept between us all, some of the best pirates suddenly have the urge to go 1 vs 1 with a person, or a roid.
It usually passes in a flash.
I think it has to do with PD, have you seen what it does to Gallente?

Well Falzone, you had a big bounty, placed (I presume) by some of the people whose time and effort you robbed when you stole from your former corp before fleeing to the Space Invaders.
I definately recall seeing your face on the big wanted screens last night. Now I guess it won't be there, will be a little satisfaction perhaps for the victims of your corp-theft back stabbing, non?
And on the matter of 1on1 duels and such, I imagine Cult had some payback to deliver in any case. It wasn't that long ago that another short-term Space Invader member agreed one-on-one terms with the Cult and then broke the agreement (when he was losing) to run like a yellow dog from the scene of battle.
So Space Invaders certainly owed Cult a battleship kill ...
On the morality of good guys vs bad guys, I think the; "good guys must always tell the truth" thing is trite. Honourable people must keep their word in honourable company yes.
But lets face it, Space Invader oaths are a synonym for a con-artists line in scam.
If its not whacking clueless victims after they payed the ransom, giving sanctuary to sleezeballs like your good self or yes, breaking the terms of one and one duels then sheesh, not sure what else you chaps have time to get a reputation for?
And on the matter of the war between the NVA and Biomass alliance (including space invaders); really, you need to get a clue.
Your corporation is sworn to the destruction of an alliance of 20+ member corps and several hundred players who have known nothing but conflict and battle for the better part of the past 3 months.
We are literally fighting for our lives and our liberty and you guys are lined up with the fellows in pressed uniforms and jackboots...
Given the chance Falzone, I would shoot you in the back of the head while you were sleeping with a smile on my face and a clear conscience.
For you to even talk about "honour" is to demean the word to meaningless atonal farce.

A quick lesson in honour.
Tis true that the good people should be honourable, but when faced with evil, sometimes you must use its methods against them. This is acceptable and you lose no honour, since honour cannot be lost against a dishonourable person.
The Murderous pirate blackbeard was killed with a similar method, Captain maynard ordered his men to hide when approaching Blackbeards ship, then as blackbeard boarded to take the prize they jumped out and killed the pirates. Taking blackbeards head and slinging it under the bowsprit of his sloop, he sailed home victorious to a heros welcome.
Im sure if blackbeard could have posted he would have cried foul. But it pales in comparison with his own dishonarable tactics...

OK, Falzone, new rule: You may never use the these words (trust & honor) in a sentence EVER, EVER again. It is very offensive to the people that actually know the meaning and value its concepts.
F-ing corp thief.

We do not fight you in what you call (what a joke btw) honourable ways because you guys don't deserve it. To put it in a way you're more used to, we fight smart. And we don't give a dime if you don't like it.

Well Negotiator since you asked;
a) Cult of Cthulhu are NVA b) Falzone is SPVD (part of biomass) c) NVA is at war with Biomass Dork Empire d) I do PR for NVA. e) Falzon is trying to make mileage out of a suposedly "dishonourable" act (amazing hypocrisy that represents) f) Cult were simply fighting the good fight against our war enemies.
Hence my involvement and desire to make a comment.
The fact that I despise Falzone as a corp thief and despise SPVD for giving him a home is an added bonus.
So thats my reason.
Now my question.
Who the hell made you the thread-relevence patroller muppet-brain?
Clearly who haven't got a clue.

Well I pick my fights really carefully, I do think I can trust some eve players to fight honestly, I try to but there have been incidents that I've tried to gank someone (sometimes succeded) but hey, this is OUR way of making a living. Lying, cheating, stealing - it's a huge part of our livelyhood, we accept this and live by it. Let me ask you this then? Are you pirate hunters really ready to sink to OUR level of cheating and lying in order to achieve your goals? If so then you are no better then the people you are trying to hunt.
I've tried to fight fair and I've had alot of fun doing so, sometimes losing, somtimes winning. But the fact is that in EVE....... trust noone.
Here, Only the silent survive.

HI All
No Disrespect but I think respect has been mistaken for Honour! We are at war and as Fal rightly says we fight smart. We have to as we are only 4 err I mean 5 now!! Honour has no place on the field of combat. It is a romantic notion at best.
One can have respect for ones foes indeed. Io is new to the Cult and has already proven his worth. He is hmmmm enthusiastic :) I think this Post falzone is a bit of a pot kettle hue comparison! Respect your foes yes. Trust them? Not on your life :)
Be you a Pirate or a Simple Alt creeper! Sooner or later you'll dance with Soul Reaver and His Amazing Underpants

Edited by: Falzone on 15/11/2003 20:28:55 Those of you that call me a thief you are correct and i don't deny that what i did was backstabbing. But this was supposed to be a 1 v 1 fight. Does 2 wrongs make a right? To the CoC guys we at SI did have great respect for your skill honestly when I challenged Ioctl to the fight i figured he would win but it sounded like fun. Guess it was fun(for him) but all those who say we are dishonorable look at the situation if i was dishonorable in in this fight i would have have my own friends standing by to warp and and help yet i didn't. I may be a corp theif but i was honorable on this occasion and kept my word to the 1 v 1 fight as agreed.
