Ok, Jita is now so full i ended up 260 odd in a jump que.
Would it be possible to have a 'deadspace' bypass area. where if you are not headed to jita as a destination. you can just bypass it without waiting 20 mins.
What you guys think?
*By deadspace i mean it isnt a solar system that magically appeared next to Jita. It is just a travel hub a few gates and a concord station? (maybe not )

I think a highway system with no stations/belts in would be a GOOD idea .
Maybe add RP about it being a barren system, previously ignored because of it's lack of natural resources, finally linked to the gate network to cope with traffic problems in Jita.

Maybe just have a "Select destination" option on all gates leading to Jita, so jump to the next system by-passing jita altogether.
Oh well , it was only an idea

String gates togeather. people would say that it could be done all the way on there 100+ trips and it could get there in 5 seconds flat. defending 00 territory will be difficult if that was everywhere :P

Good Idea. And maybe in addition, don't let the agents around Jita give out missions in Jita. I had to do some missions in Perimeter cause it was the only good level 3 agent of that Corp and guess where most missions outside from Perimeter where. I think nobody wants/needs missions in Jita.

2006.11.29 19:22:04 Notify Jita Traffic Control is currently experiencing heavy load and is unable to process your request. You are #373 in queue for jump-in.
I was just thinking the same thing, set autopilot, went to wash dishes, came back to that... what a circus

If I remember correctly, they tried this already. A long time ago, Yulai was the commercial hub of the universe. Now, not so much. I dont know what determines empire hub location, but making a barren system will probably just shift lag to a single other system, so you get Jita 2.
I would recommend adding some kind of commercial incentive to stay out of Jita and other heavily populated systems. You could add a fee to all sales, paid by the buyer, of like 1% or .5%, maybe higher, to get people to buy elsewhere. You could reduce agent payoffs during that time period. You could have docking and gate fees for heavily populated systems. For those logging in, you could have an option to appear in another system (thus bypassing the queue).

I think we should be able to use a jumpgate to bypass Jita completely "if" we are just flying by it.
You would figure that CCP has made enough ISK from taxes to spring for a new jumpgate or a few more jumpgates.

Didn't they already add in a bypass to Jita? Juuginshinianantatooi or something? There's a few systems "past" Jita that are like 9 vs 5 jumps away if you go around, but it's possible. -- Lil Miner Newbie Skills Roadmap | CCG Card Lookup |

Sounds good, which system shall we demolish? How about Jita itself?

Then one of the systems in the ring would become the new trade hub. You sell your stuff where people drive by...:)
Anyway, I _dont_ think its a good idea to have newbies doing level 1 missions in the market hub though... --- Eve Wiki | Eve Tribune | Eve Pirate |

FFS.. CCP how long has jita been a problem? 551 in que to jump in and i need to bypass the system on my way to my home system.
Fix your game if it can't handle nodes with 700+ on it. I mean it's not rocket science; then again maybe it is.However being forced to wait 30 minutes to move a system is just stupid. Then too crash in Jita and wait another 30 minutes to get back online...to wait more. Just FIX IT FFS. thanks

That would be great for getting into 0.0 space. We could bypass the gate camps at the major chokepoints, and they would die of boredom...

I like the idea of a barren Jita, something along the lines of due to the sheer population all useful resources have long since been removed.
A Jita with no belts and no agents must offer a little extra headroom. Maybe not loads, but it has got offer some.

IMHO...
Autopilot should never go through Jita... the only time autopilot will get you to Jita is when Jita is a waypoint or destination. No missions starting, happening or ending in Jita... no high level agents in Jita.
Its a hub, and will continue to be, even with the above changes... but people flying through needlessly contribute to load and lag.
Create a system, called "Beltway", with all the same gates as Jita has. Create a Beltway gate in every system that attaches to Jita... with 1 station, no belts, no missions, and a 1.0 Sec status (maybe 0.8-1.0, whatever).
This will help traffic that doesn't need to be in Jita keep away from Jita. -----------------------------------------------

Edited by: Paigan on 29/11/2006 21:01:29 Edited by: Paigan on 29/11/2006 20:58:44 There are some almost insulting simple means to ease the jita load, anway:
1.) Create bypass routes so that nobody has to charge jita only for passing through. (this would be easily arrangable with RPG background. If a system becomes a overloaded hub, there would be installed additional jumpgates)
2.) Remove all agents from jita. Maybe only 1-2 jumps away. Won't be too much impertinence for the concearned mission runners. And if it still is: they're to blame themselves for doing missions in jita.
3.) and ensure that no mission target whatsoever is placed in jita (one line of code: if randomtarget == jita: select new random system)
4.) Maybe even reduce the numbers of station
5.) Or even cut off some of its jump connections. Like that to kisogo where the noobs flood in from.
As long as CCP doesn't even do the first most simplest and perfectly RL _and_ RPG logical point, i claim that the jita lag is
INTENTIONAL
by the devs. -- This game is still in beta stage |

Do you honestly all not know about the way around Jita?
There's 2 or 3 routes, depending on where you're starting from. They add maybe half a dozen jumps, but now we have WTZ.
They gave you a map for a reason, and it's not to stare at the pretty colors. Use it!

I make an alt (Caldari) I do the first mission to kill a merc, then go back to station (in Kisogo, not too bad but still 250 people) I get 2nd mission which involves going to Urlen (quieter, good) Mission complete Agent says a new agent has work for me, look in people and places Oh look, new agent is in Jita Set autopilot to Lirsaurton (Better)
Good idea to give us access to the other races agents, but just to avoid jita? |

Jita is a commercial Hub, it should not be a Thoroughfare! I think CCP need to make a by-pass system. Simply a system that is beside Jita that the Auto Pilot wil connect to instead of Jita. This system will have nothing but star gates in it, no choke points like Kisogo is. The only time you should ever have to go through Jita is if you have selected it as a Waypoint or destination. ------------------------------------- Proud member of G Guild! |
