Oh you know, the ones that aren't like literally every other game he plays because we don't need this unique crap that's like nothing else in existence. No, what we need is the same thing everywhere. That's why E3 had nothing but sequels and remakes this year, you know. Kids these days hate stuff that makes them think and learn or put in effort. They just want the same thing everywhere. I don't disagree with you, but the people you can have a conversation with are rare and plattform independent for the most part. I know we come across like wolves going ter easy pray, but have you ever considered how this all wouldn't happen, if people wouldn't make threads full of self entitled demands and whining, combined with complete ignorance of their environment?
I get what you're saying, but ultimately we're all responsible for our own behaviour.
I mean, you can either read a post and think, "Hmm pretty sure his topic has been done to death" and go read something else or point them to a duplicate thread, or you can post "IBTL oh look it's this thread again EVE is dying hurr durrrrrr". Choosing to do the latter merely makes the forum even worse.

TL;DR
1) EVE is alreayd in 2.0 mode. Right now they are in Fix it mode. why people are too stupid to understand this i have no clue. In order for eve to expand you have to repair the base. Otherwise things get worse. Sure 'new space and new ways to play' would be interesting, but as Seagull said, inorder to do that, they have to repair the old tools so you can have new ways to play. New content with the same tools is pretty much the same crap we have just different colors.
2) eve is expanding.. if you don;t see that then you are blind.
3) Sheading of number righ now is not a huge cause for panic. We are most likly still seeing the dorp off from input broadcast and bot banns, as well as shifting of unnecessary cyno and other alts. 2015 is pretty much a yera of tranisition for eve. And we won;t know the full effects untill my guess is the end of next year.
4) CCP might be hedging its bets on Valk saving them, but i don;t think so. I feel Valk will be huge, and will actually hekp improve new eden int he long run. I also feel, that eve has something big coming, being worke don behind the scence, but again, we won;t see it till next year. My gues sis FF16 will be HUGE. But hey what to i know.
Summery: Patience, you have to fix broken **** before you cna expand. And it will get worse (shedding numbers) before it will get better. this COULD be a good thing, or it could be a bad thing, but we won;t know untill the end of 2016 when all is said and done (and no SC will not kill eve if you are htinking that)

I guess the funny thing about these threads for me is a friend of mine told me after CCP Seagull first announced the move to the new Update system that it was going to cause some problems.
Not for game design, mind you, but that so many people are used to big releases twice a year spiking the player count back up predictably that the usual normal numbers persisting throughout the year was going to come with a dramatic increase in the number of "DOOM threads".
Seems like he was right, though I scoffed at the idea at the time.
The simple fact is that as the person who posted about Brain in a Box mentioned, not even the core code written back in 2003 is set in stone. As long as CCP is willing to tear up the old ground and build new foundations as they've shown they are, the game is in no danger of "dying out".
tl;dr stop posting these damn threads every few hours and just play the damn game

Too little too late mate. They could have done all that a long time ago but they were playing with dust bunnies and vampires. When you realise that is the main problem you'll be able to engage in a conversation with us. EVE is in no position to compete with modern games.
Valk cant be huge, it's made for a piece of hardware with 0 established userbase. All it can be is a decent prototype. |
