I am an eve player about a month and a half now. I have 1.8 mil. SP but most of them are in learning skills - 1.1 mil. Question 1:I started with about 200k SP at max and players are now starting with 800k.Im asking myself why did i play for 1.5 months now? I STILL have less usable SP than the newly created chars! (they have 800k me about 700k) Question 2:You think that u solved the max/min build and that is true in one way.Yet u didn't have this in mind:have u any idea what are some skillbooks worth?Trade players will start with skills worth of about 20 milion ISK!Don't u think almost everyone will start as a trader now? I have sweated to get some skillbooks (got blown up and so forth) and i still can't afford to buy some books that a starting trade player has!
That is for now CCP...and justice for all...please.

I think I speak for everyone when I say: You'll live.
I understand your complaints, but they're basically... eh. You complain about only having 700k usable skill points, but you can't just ignore 1.1mil in learning skills. Newbies train those too.
You also have 1.5 months of experience, more varied skills, and probably more money. Even if Trader-specialized newbies do get very valuable skills (I haven't done the math) I'm sure you have the assets to make up for it. Plus, most people aren't going to create Traders just to get trading skills; most people don't care about trading. :P
Everyone in the game has lost exactly as much as you, but most of them don't care. Play a few more months, and neither will you.

1. You have a big edge on new players with the learning skills, and will advance faster than new players until they invest 1.1 mil or more into learning skills.
2. The only people who are going to start as traders are going to be traders. The fact that their skillbooks cost more doesn't mean a thing if you want a combat oriented character that'll never buy those skillbooks (or won't buy them until isk isn't a problem). IF you want a multipurpose type character, then starting as a trader would probably make more sense, but it is what it is.

No biggie - you have more SP's than the rest of the noobs and more experience, plus you'll train faster, as the other guy said.
You're still ahead of the game when i comes to starting off.

Actually, if you have a low Charisma, the trader path can be a good way to get quite a few ranks in skills you would otherwise train fairly slowly.

Edited by: Protunia on 01/12/2006 12:02:32 hey you started with more SP than I did!!! ![Rolling Eyes](/images/icon_rolleyes.gif)
Thats true BTW. Ive been here 2 1/2 months have 2.6 mill exp.
I did not go straight for the learnings and used implants to supplement the learnings while mixing them in between useful skills.
If you look at the skills I have you see I have around
580k Learning 650k Space Command 530k Drones 400k Gunnery
The rest ( 400k ) is in a bunch of other skills I have.
why do things this way?? so I can have fun and play while I pay.
By using the skills the game has to play the game I was making 6 million a day very quickly. Now on avg I can pull anywhere from 10-30 in a day depending on how things go that day.
I think too many players were told to start with the learnings skills and too max them. This is not how you play a game to make money or have fun. My Character Stats

It sucks, yes. With my open character slots, I threw a couple characters together just to see how the new creation was, and .. well, I was torn. I LOVED how it was set up now - very pretty, easier to use. Yet, I was dismayed by the skills that they start with.
That aside! I'm pretty new, but I've got like .. 2 months on all these new-er people. So .. experience kinda outweighs skills to some extent. I have just over 890,963 skill points. The fact that everyone is starting out right at that amount is annoying, but I'll deal with it.
(It should be noted; my account ran dry for a week or two, aaaand I only have 45k in learning skills XD)
Anyhoo, long story short .. we'll get over it. Just gotta suck it up. :D
Good flyin', all.
